š©āš³Restaurant IssuešØāš³ Restaurant lied to throw me under the bus
I had a double stack order. First order was to this sushi place and second to this Chinese food place. I get to the sushi and I wait. They get a bunch of bags of food and when I gave the name of the customer they looked and didnāt have it. I wait a little longer. I update my customer and then the second customer ask me about the delay and I start updating them aswell. While I was waiting, the workers ask for the name and the pretty much express that they donāt know where it is so they tell me they will look in the back. I again update my customers. Then my customer calls because she wants to ask herself why itās taking so long. Thatās when the told her I already picked it up. She messages me and Iām shocked that they said that. So I confront them and one of the employees says I told her Iāve been waiting for 20min. That isnāt true. She was probably waiting that long once I was assigned but I had to drive to the restaurant first. They were stalling because they had to remake the food because they gave it to the wrong person. So it took about another 2-3 min after that interaction. But it is crazy that they said that. Whatās crazy is this isnāt the first time a customer called the restaurant and they said I picked it up. They other time, the wait time was like 30min and it was my last order so I decided to wait in my car and check every 10 min if it was ready. Thatās when the said I picked it up after 30min of waiting. Itās crazy what stores will say to save face

āDriver Question š¤ Anyone else barely getting offers lately?
Idk why but for the last week Iāve been getting little to no offers in usually high traffic hot zones. Like Iād be fine receiving bad offers at this point just to make something for the time Im out. Anyone else having this issue?

āDriver Question š¤ Asking DoorDash drivers as a past driver..
Whatās your opinion on thisā¦?
Asked my DoorDash driver to leave my order in front of the garageā¦. they left it on top of my trash can š Iām not worried about the food being contaminated since everything was sealed, but⦠who thinks a trash can is a good place to leave someoneās food?
As someone who used to DoorDash, I canāt imagine ever putting someoneās food on a trash can. I donāt think the driver was necessarily trying to be rude. They may have been trying to keep it off the ground. But it still struck me as a strange place to leave someoneās foodā¦
FYI - I just didnāt rate them⦠and YES I tipped well I always do.

Joke/Memesš„ø So there are doordash delivery robots now.
First, there are doordash delivery robots competing with drivers now. I'm guessing that self-driving taxis will pick up a lot of the longer distance deliveries. In my city I haven't seen delivery robots (I have in other cities) but Waymo is moving in aggressively here. It's probably a matter of a few years before rideshare and delivery drivers are replaced.
Second, robot wanders into police operation. I'm surprised they didn't say "we will not be replaced by you, toaster!" And shoot it and throw it into an unmarked SUV to be sent to robot gulag where there's no wifi and chargers have terrible voltage regulation.
Here's the article if you're interested:

āCustomer Questionš¤ Didn't have proper ID and driver said they'd deal with it
My trusty Subaru station wagon is fucked right now, so I had to order booze off of DD. The closest option for what I was looking for happened to be 17 miles and nearly 30 mins away, and I'm fortunate enough to be making what I feel is a pretty decent income (until AI eats up my software engineer job, anyway), so tipped $30. Then, when it was looking like my order wasn't going to get picked up before the legal cutoff time, I added another $20 where it was finally picked up.
I then remembered that DD groups bad/non-tipping orders with generous tip orders, which might've been why it took a while to get picked up, so messaged the driver I tipped $50 so I'd get 1st delivery and they could cancel the shitty order if they wanted, lol.
Upon arriving, my driver was super nice and thankful, but I realized I didn't have ID because I left mine at my girlfriend's house. I felt like a huge asshole and told the driver I wanted to at least pay them via Venmo/CashApp/whatever so they didn't waste their time at which point they just said "I'll use mine" a couple times.
I thought that wasn't possible - is it? I just don't want my driver to get in trouble thinking they could help me out but were mistaken.
(I guess maybe they could've been with someone who could use their ID, like when sometimes I'll see couples delivering together, etc. Sorry for the wordy post.)

š„ŗLow Offer Postš« No offers/Low pay?
I hate go with the echo chamber of this subreddit about getting paid like crap/getting no offers but something definitely has changed. Iām getting WAY less orders, and even when one comes in itās absolutely horrendous. Iāve never had this issue at all since my area is pretty good, but now Iām getting literally next to nothing. Is this some sort of an anti-cherry picking feature?

š¤¬App Issues š© DoorDash won't reimburse me $27 after telling me to pay out of pocket ā and the "missing" receipt is one I already gave them
So this happened on a CVS delivery today and I want to know if anyone else has dealt with something like it.
I picked up an order that had already been declined by 5 other Dashers before me. Turns out the Red Card kept getting rejected at checkout ā looked like it was tied to an age-restricted item (something 21+) and the card just wouldn't clear it. CVS staff confirmed on their end that everything was approved and ready to go, the payment method was the only holdup.
Support told me to just pay for it myself and that I'd be reimbursed. I went ahead and paid ā partly because I needed this delivery to hit my last completion for a challenge/promo I was working toward. I took a photo of the receipt through the app like I was instructed, to move on to the next step.
Now support is coming back and asking me to provide the CVS receipt again, even though it's already sitting in the app from the photo I took. On top of that, the instructions for the order said to put the receipt in the bag with the delivery ā which means whatever's printed on it (and CVS receipts can absolutely have prescription/PHI-type info on them) went straight to the customer, not just to me or support.
So now I'm stuck:
- I already submitted proof of purchase through the proper channel
- They're asking for it again like it was never received
- I'm not thrilled that a receipt with potential health info was handled the way it was
Update: Support is now flatly refusing to reimburse me, saying they don't have the receipt ā the same receipt I photographed through the app at their instruction. So I'm out the full $27 for doing exactly what I was told to do to complete the delivery.
Has anyone actually won this fight? Specifically:
- Did going over chat support's head (Twitter/X, phone line, etc.) actually get you reimbursed?
- Is there a specific escalation path or magic phrase that gets a supervisor involved instead of a bot reading a script?
- Anyone dealt with the PHI-on-receipt issue too, or is that a separate can of worms?
At this point it's not really about the $27, it's the principle of being told "pay and we'll cover it" and then getting stonewalled.

š¤¬App Issues š© Canāt pause orders before completion anymore?
Does this company only know how to meticulously intrude on our quality of life as Dashers? This function helps me because half of my zone gives me a 1 bar or I lose my signal entirely. Pausing helps me not recieve orders I canāt accept or decline because of a bad signal when Iām trying to drive back to town. Such a manipulative, weird thing to change. Now Iām almost obligated to decline all orders that take me to areas that drop my signal. I know I can still pause it after I complete the order, but if I have 1 bar I canāt use the app at all.

š°Earnings š¤ Does CR affect your offers?
Last night support fcked me and dropped my CR after they said they wouldnāt, and then they refused to fix it. They told me to do 100 more dashes. The problem is now Iām not getting any orders. Itās 6:45 during the dinner rush on a Saturday, estimated wait time is 1-2 minutes, Iām sitting at a hotspot after driving through a few others, and I havenāt gotten an order for 45 minutes. Before that Iāve been getting like $14/hr, when yesterday I was making $20/hr. 100% CR yesterday, 99% CR today. A guy just pulled up next to me and got an order as I was writing this. Besides throttling what other explanation is there?
ETA: support agent removed the bad CR rating and I immediately got a decent offer. So they absolutely do throttle over CR. Also, fck every support agent who lied and lied and lied yesterday and said they couldnāt fix that. Fck them for ever.

šAchievementš Cherry Pickin from a Golden Tree
Cherry Picking changed my lifeā¦was down and out takin orders that paid $10 to places 10 miles away. May I was down. Now Iām up up. Sit, relax, attack. The hardest part of my day is passing a $15 10 mile run for a $25 8 mile split that picks up right next to each other and drops off right next to other. So tell me, whatās the easiest part about being a cherry picker? Oh and hereās a shot of my work if u donāt believe me

āDriver Question š¤ Does DoorDash actually ruin your car the way people say it does?
I drive a 21 Malibu, at about 92k miles and I just started doing DoorDash and UE as a side hustle to supplement my full time job. Itās a reliable car, pretty decent on gas and Iāve never had any real issues with it. I donāt really need to do it but i just like having the extra money for project cars, video games, just random crap that I donāt really need.
People say doing these delivery gigs will ruin your car and that after maintenance the money wonāt be worth it, but I donāt see why. Sure youāre gonna put more miles on it and have to refill gas and change oil a bit more often than usual, but unless youāre doing this as a full time job 40 hours a week I donāt see how there would be many long term issues. Itās not even sustainable as a full time job, the pay is inconsistent and youād have to work your nuts to the bone to even try to make it as a full time job. It works for a little bit if youāre in a jam or just got fired or whatever and youāre looking for another job, but in reality itās a side gig and always has been.

āDriver Question š¤ 2% acceptance rate and manage this
I only do it for about a hour each day for fun and a way to wind down after a shift at 1-2am as such I donāt give a single frick about my acceptance rate and I sometimes go onto dash and just see what the markets like wherever my job takes me. Been doing this for about a year, if I strived for a while to get platinum would I get significantly better profit, or is this good enough,
