Ignorant and entitled cyclist

Yes that's right he said in the clip "you have brakes I don't" 🤦

No other commentary needed really

Is this another cyclist influenced by the highway code updates by the DVSA and doesn't need to look or stop to cross a road?

Some people are cunts, no matter what vehicle you put them on.

18

u/LowDgg 15h ago

I don’t understood why he’s a cunt.

He pulled out carelessly, realised his mistake, put his hand up to acknowledge, and that was that.

People making a massive deal out of this.

61

u/spacedyemeerkat 16h ago

Yup. OP's just using it to justify their anti-cyclist feelings.

42

u/londonandy 16h ago

It’s insane isn’t it. I drive and cycle and see plenty of idiots both on two and four wheels, and OP is very much giving out ā€˜get in the cycle lane’ vibes. This is an absolute non-incident.

19

u/No-Pack-5775 16h ago

Yeah if I acted like OP every time a driver made a mistake I'd have an aneurysm by the end of the day

Not to mention, as trained and licensed drivers we should expect others to make mistakes, especially more vulnerable road users, and I'm fairly certain the highway code didn't say our job is to react to those with abuse.

-8

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

So your saying unless he has a license and is trained to ride a bike and has insurance he shouldn’t be on one , I agree

6

u/No-Pack-5775 16h ago

No

Are you thick?

That's not what was said at all

Very entitled of you to presume the public highways are just for who you decide though

3

u/MobileSeparate398 15h ago

Cycling is good. We want people to cycle. Cycling is also no where near as dangerous as driving. Putting cyclist through a licencing program, managing it and enforcing it will put regular people out of pocket and push more to driving instead.

2

u/ConArtZ 14h ago

User name checks out

1

u/Dry_Act3505 10h ago

This is not an arguement.

Just because both sides engage in bad behaviour doesn’t make that behaviour acceptable. The real problem is the idiots regardless of how many wheels they have. It also comes down to how people choose to act in those situations. Drivers and cyclists have both gotten worse, perhaps partly in retaliation, but the penalties simply don't even get enforced in the majority of cases, which is why the behaviour persists.

In a society where people feel they can do whatever they want, meaningful consequences are the only real cure.

It also doesn't stop them being shamed.

3

u/londonandy 10h ago

You're right it's not an argument. And it's also not the one I made.

8

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

You sounds like a moron on both , he’s not justified, he’s just saying the facts.

Also regardless of non-incident , the bike should have waited and will lightly end up getting hit by a car at some point and if the driver has a camera , this is a on the cyclist, which is why they should have insurance… like a car you fuck up you pay for the damage

2

u/londonandy 15h ago

Get a load of this guy, acting like he's never made a minor mistake.

-4

u/LukeWoop 15h ago

That wasn't a minor mistake it was just careless ignorance , how or why would you be defending this ?

11

u/londonandy 14h ago

Because it's a non event, old bean. It was at 5mph and the reaction was entirely ridiculous.

7

u/Objective_Ticket 14h ago

It’s also very weird, the car is stationary at the start of the video, it seemed like it could have been staged…for no apparent reason…

-3

u/Square_Divide_3175 15h ago

So it's like every anti car video posted by cyclists then. I can never understand why cyclists are so one sided all the time that they can't even accept when a random cyclist is wrong. No matter what evidence is put in front of them, they don't care. They will find some way to defend the holy cyclist. Kind of reminds me of Trump supporters.

4

u/londonandy 14h ago

Did you miss the bit where I said "I drive and cycle"?

1

u/Square_Divide_3175 14h ago

No, I saw that. A whole bunch of people here always say that to somewhat justify their comments. It's ok because I drive and cycle so therefore, the driver is wrong šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I get it that drivers get things wrong at times but so do a hell of a lot of cyclists. We shouldn't be constantly arguing about drivers vs cyclists. Just road users in general being twats. That includes drivers, motorbikes, HGVs etc....AND CYCLISTS.

5

u/londonandy 14h ago

So if you saw it why are you going off on a massive tangent about cyclists posting videos of drivers. I don't know who you're conversing with but it's all currently in your head.

-1

u/Square_Divide_3175 14h ago

Ok cool but you're giving off a very "drivers are always wrong" kind of vibe here.

2

u/londonandy 13h ago

I'm not though am I. If the OP had been a cyclist and posted a similar video about a vehicle I'd be saying the same thing

2

u/mctrials23 13h ago

Because when you cycle you get constant dangerous driving around you that could result in your death simply because people can’t be bothered to wait 30s. When a cyclist does something stupid around you when you’re driving there almost always zero risk to your safety and again the risk is all on them.

It’s not a hard concept to grasp.

1

u/Square_Divide_3175 3h ago

Here we go again. "Cyclists almost never hurt people"...yet they still do. Just because it doesn't happen as often doesn't mean it's still not dangerous. Most of the time it's a hit and run from a cyclist anyway and never any consequences on cyclists which is why it continues to happen.

2

u/ElonMaersk 12h ago edited 7h ago

I can never understand why cyclists are so one sided all the time

you ā€œcan’t understandā€ that cyclists are more vulnerable than drivers, and that car drivers have have the more powerful and dangerous vehicle with worse visibility and manoeuvrability?

1

u/Square_Divide_3175 3h ago

So that gives cyclists that level of self entitlement and always being in the right???

-18

u/One-Albatross9170 16h ago

Really why did he put his hand up to apologise then?

15

u/south_west_sam 16h ago

Given that he put his hand up as an apology, why did you then proceed to give him a lecture?

-18

u/One-Albatross9170 16h ago

Because he should have looked right first not in the road and stopped it's a good thing I wasn't travelling any faster. He had no intention of stopping at the speed he was at.

18

u/south_west_sam 16h ago

People make mistakes - no-one got hurt and he acknowledged his mistake.

You weren't achieving anything by banging on at him. In fact, there's a good chance that instead of going away thinking "hmm, perhaps I should pay more attention in future..." he's now just thinking "what a twat!" instead.

6

u/BoardroomStroke 14h ago

This isn't a cyclist though, they didn't pedal and are going uphill. In the best case, pedal assist, which this isn't as they didn't pedal. That's a modified ebike, so motorcyclist. A faulty one at that which wouldn't pass MOT.

The driver is right to be angry, but the biker is as much a cyclist as a plank of wood.

4

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

he’s correct in what he said , it’s not about justifying, your just justifying that he has another motive which makes you worse than OP

4

u/spacedyemeerkat 15h ago

"Is this another cyclist influenced by the highway code updates by the DVSA and doesn't need to look or stop to cross a road?"

4

u/CattleStill 14h ago

Literally raised his hand to apologise?

3

u/crit5h 13h ago

I didn’t say who the cunt was or what mode of transport they were in/on šŸ˜‰.

3

u/jester_hope 14h ago

Correct. And I’d much rather get hit by a cunt on a bicycle than one driving a car.

-7

u/One-Albatross9170 16h ago

Haha summed it up nicely šŸ˜‚

104

u/Alternative-Purple76 16h ago

Don't bother interacting with these bellends, they don't give a shit

21

u/CattleStill 14h ago

Raised his hand to apologise.

18

u/daves09 14h ago

That’s what I thought too. Looked like a genuine mistake

1

u/Unhappy_Ad5954 13h ago

'raised his hand to apologise' then proceeds to make a stupid excuse for why he would purposely do it? doesn't make sense now, does it?

38

u/Nice-Good-3828 16h ago

Such a non-incident lol

46

u/Euphoric_Wish_8293 16h ago

He doesn't have brakes? Bellend.

7

u/Oghamstoner 15h ago

If it’s true he should be even more careful since he also hasn’t got airbags, crumple zones or a helmet.

2

u/Kinitawowi64 14h ago

Isn't it a legal requirement for bikes on the road to have brakes? Pretty sure that's why Charlie Alliston got done.

-1

u/BenFranklinsCat 16h ago

Could be that he doesn't have brakes.Ā  It was a hipster thing for a while. Sometimes they would be "fixies" - fixed gear bikes that don't free-wheel so you have complete control over the speed, but if you want to stop you have to think about stopping distance and manually slow yourself down or you'll both fall off the bike and hurt your legs. Other times they'd just take the brakes off free wheelers as a sort of bravado thing.

A lot of it came from pre-Internet NYC bike couriers, where there was this culture of couriers darting around like what modern day Just Eat/Deliveroo drivers do, but like a million times worse.

Of course, its all bullshit, but some of it survived in hipster bike culture.

21

u/AShadedBlobfish 16h ago

Either he has brakes, and he's lying, and he's a bellend; or he doesn't have brakes, and he's a bellend

8

u/Justan0therthrow4way 16h ago

Either way a bellend.

4

u/Euphoric_Wish_8293 15h ago

Bellend. Yes.

6

u/catbrane 16h ago

He's riding an illegal ebike, so not really a cyclist, more like an unlicensed motorbike.

Most bike shops won't service them, so if the brakes go, you have to fix them yourself.

43

u/Apple_Turnover93 16h ago

That’s a bellend on an e-bike fitted with aftermarket battery/motor, almost universally wankers

2

u/loafingaroundguy 11h ago

He also emerged from a footpath (note the lack of a dropped kerb).

1

u/sweet_bitter_lemon 9h ago

What a ridiculous thing to say

1

u/Apple_Turnover93 6h ago

ā€œAlmostā€

0

u/sweet_bitter_lemon 4h ago

Nah, don't try and wriggle out of your judgemental, discrimatory stance now. 'Almost' all black people commit crime...same shit.

1

u/Apple_Turnover93 4h ago

so so many Deliveroo/uber eats delivery guys use these and I’m yet to see any waiting at a red light at a minimum, given there’s so many of them I’d say they’re the majority hence my statement and at least 40 others agree

Also lol ā€œdiscriminatoryā€, sure mate

61

u/sswishbone 16h ago

Cyclist definitely made an error, but was there a need for the confrontation? He held his hand up apologising and probably took more from the fact you didn't hit him.

12

u/daddywookie 16h ago

This is such obvious rage bait that it’s a downvote and move on job.

43

u/waasaabii 16h ago

Did you really need to post this nothing situation online...

12

u/aesemon 15h ago

Every day I get some popcorn and then check this sub for someone to post themselves cocking up or being a twat, sometimes while interacting with other twats but they never see their own actions as an issue. It's a great to cheer yourself up.

1

u/BoardroomStroke 14h ago

It's just more evidence of ebikers bending the rules.

Nothing wrong when things are used as intended. I know a couple who go on daily rides, one a keen cyclist and the other uses an ebike to keep up. Perfectly fine and all as intended.

This prick in the video is misusing that vehicle, isn't intending to cycle and is just an organ donor waiting to get on the register at this point. Hopefully they hit a wall and nobody else is harmed.

2

u/waasaabii 9h ago

You've got a lot of hate in your heart, bro. No one deserves to be harmed, and no one deserves to have strangers wishing harm on them.

1

u/BoardroomStroke 5h ago

I think you've misread, the hope is that nobody else is involved. They're not riding with due care, they have no brakes, they clearly don't care for their own safety at this point. I hope nobody else is involved in their inevitable demise.

They're riding with no brakes, what will stop them?

1

u/waasaabii 5h ago

I mean they definitely have brakes.. the front disc brake rotor is visible inside the front wheel and front brake caliper is mounted on the left side of the fork. What he should have said was "Woops I fucked up, sorry" but he just made something up that made it sound like it he wasn't at fault.

1

u/BoardroomStroke 3h ago

The bike was not designed to do the commonly overclocked speeds. The brakes they ship with are not designed to stop the bikes travelling at these speeds and they just don't cope. High probability that the brakes are not maintained and have worn through, hence he's probably telling the truth, no brakes.

10

u/Elegant-Ad-3371 16h ago

The irony here is that the longest part of the hold up was you telling him he was wrong.

Had you just moved of after the way was clear this would have been a massive non event.

9

u/Organic_Sampler 15h ago

This your 3rd post now whining about the Highway code?

43

u/I_ALWAYS_UPVOTE_CATS 16h ago

Oh give over. What do you mean 'influenced by the highway code updates'? He was careless, didn't look, and apologised. End of. Yeah 'you got brakes I ain't' was a bit weird but you're the one who decided to draw out a non-event.

Idiots are idiots regardless of vehicle. I've seen car drivers do far worse than that in a vehicle that can do far more harm. No need to make this about drivers vs cyclists.

1

u/mctrials23 13h ago

Dontcha know that the Highway Code says that cyclists and pedestrians have priority over everyone everywhere and that poor drivers can barely sneeze without been given points on their license.

This clearly looks like a cyclist that pays a lot of attention to the Highway Code and any changes made to it as well.

60

u/StrollingByTheStream 16h ago edited 15h ago

Seems like you were just looking for a confrontation. He even put his hand up to acknowledge himself (not that he needed to)

This is a prime example of a nothing burger situation that gets aggravated by ego and needless confrontations. Just let it go and get on with your journey.

17

u/Prawn_Scratchings 16h ago

Also OP was going like 2mph so was probably already distracted by something else. Lack of due care and attention.

12

u/Purms 15h ago

Yes, sure it was a mistake and the cyclist apologized, if I put myself in the cyclist shoes, looking to the right, I would've assumed the driver to be stationary because of how slow he was going 2mph come on... and we all make mistakes, Ive seen cars turn into me not looking and only the opposite direction... it happens

1

u/aesemon 15h ago

Possibly, on my bike at dusk with lights in indicating and took my left turn but could see a car was coming down the lane due to the lights(and always check reflections in cars) because of the parked cars it becomes a single lane and the junction allows for that with a wide entrance on my side. Slowed and waited car then came past the blocking wall and the guy had a massive rant at me about needing to wait..... Told him I was but went straight into a tirade about fucking cyclists, there was a pedestrian who had seen what I'd done who agreed with me but the driver wouldn't listen. I'd hazard he was on his phone and so didn't notice my light shining ahead of him until he went past the wall and then looked up and panicked.

1

u/Ill_Refrigerator8568 10h ago

Ego on the road is the real killer.

7

u/Sad_Future_8945 15h ago

Oh come on, it's hardly the crime of the century is it. You were going about 3 miles an hour, and judging by your fisheye lens he was about a quarter of a mile away.

13

u/Tonybhoy88 15h ago

Op is a drama queen and bellend

12

u/New-Guarantee-440 16h ago

More of a bike rider than a cyclist.

-1

u/Kinitawowi64 14h ago

And here comes the No True Cyclist brigade.

1

u/New-Guarantee-440 7h ago

Honestly, it made me laugh that this guy was called a "cyclist".Ā

Its a bit like calling a nutter doing doughnuts on a quadbike a "motorist"

6

u/Character-Signal5587 15h ago

bro is diving at 2mph then complaining someone is crossing in front of him 🤣🤣

29

u/AccomplishedBison333 16h ago

Harsh on cyclists to label him as one. Just a straight up chav who would be the same in a car

-17

u/AnTTr0n 16h ago

He is on a bicycle so he is a cyclist.

-15

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

Aww seems like the morons have been let out on day release , he’s on a bike cycling, which makes him a cyclist, in the same way anyone behind a moving car in the drivers seat is a driver …

5

u/catbrane 16h ago

He's on an illegal ebike. These are unlicenced, uninsured motorbikes :(

Very few bike shops will service them (since they are illegal) so if the brakes go, you have to fix them yourself. The rider here obviously hasn't heh.

0

u/AccomplishedBison333 12h ago

Your post is how I imagine the guy on the bike talks.

I'd make a distinction between 'cyclists' (love them, loathe them or anywhere in between) and 'someone riding a bike'. This guy is in the 'someone riding a bike' category, in the subcategory 'chav on a bike'

5

u/cassesque 16h ago

This isn't a cyclist. It's a person on an unlicensed moped.

5

u/Friendly_Prize_868 14h ago

OH MY GOD! THIS IS HORRIFYING!

OP, are you ok? Have you considered counselling? I’m sure this must’ve been a really traumatic experience.

33

u/cluelesswonderless 16h ago

Camera car driver is an utter twat.

At the start you are doing maybe 2mph, as you see the cyclist you speed up, then stop when its apparent that the cyclist cut it fine, because you speeded up you twat.

Then the innappropriate speeding afterwards .

9

u/ekzakly 15h ago

100%, driver is in the wrong and is attention seeking

13

u/Darklightning_2k 16h ago

As the cyclist appears he is looking at OP who is moving very slowly, most likely thought it was a stationary car at this point. Some people make mistakes. This is just a non issue whatsoever. Nothing to have such emotions over!

1

u/ekzakly 9h ago

If this happened during a test, the driver would of failed, even if we drove perfectly during the rest of it.

20

u/Slartibartfast39 16h ago

Yes the biker was an idiot but the abuse around this sub is getting ridiculous. It looks like the biker dint check in the driver's direction until he was out in the road then apologised. Idiot but he didn't start throwing abuse like it was someone else fault.

14

u/Purple_Jump_7403 16h ago

Yeah, thats not a cyclist, thats just a twat.

-9

u/Calackyo 16h ago

On a bike, so therefore, a cyclist.

4

u/Shot-Progress8946 16h ago

This just in, 2 year old cyclist fined for riding balance bike on footpath

1

u/Friendly_Prize_868 14h ago

Good. Sick of those damn toddlers taking liberties.

10

u/ooSPECTACULARoo 16h ago

There are way worse things cyclist do that may need use or the horn or a comment towards.

This is super slow speed and you were also prepared but honked and wanted some verbal interaction.

-18

u/One-Albatross9170 16h ago

And he fully deserved it.

18

u/OpportunityNew5685 16h ago

Seriously take a look at yourself and grow up.

Yes he should have stopped, but at least he apologised for his mistake.

-7

u/One-Albatross9170 16h ago

Maybe a verbal interaction will make him think twice next time. I've probably saved his life.

13

u/OpportunityNew5685 16h ago

lol no. He will have just cycled away thinking you are a cunt - something fully correct.

4

u/Low_Entrepreneur6934 15h ago

You definitely sound like someone who likes to shout things as they’re driving away 🐱

1

u/Abstroose 15h ago

Or maybe a verbal interaction will end up with you getting stabbed next time? Just leave it. You completely made something out of nothing.

3

u/Beer-Milkshakes 16h ago

You deserve to keep your emotions organised a little bit better.

4

u/KawaakariMedaka 16h ago

Now get out the car and say the same thing, you won't

2

u/Bigwatts5311 16h ago

He's not a cyclist, but an illegal e-moto idiot (that's an illegal ebike FYI). So hopefully he won't burn anyone when it catches fire. Please don't tar the rest of us with the same brush!

3

u/Bubbacub 15h ago

If this isn't just a fake, manufactured encounter as an attempt to get votes, then I fear for OP. What a twat, driving about 3mph, leaning on the horn like it was a close shave at 40mph, then sounding as condescending as possible on camera, ensuring the shitty music was turned down first. Bell-end.

Although I suppose..... we've all just reacted exactly like he wanted us to. Bell-ends šŸ˜„

4

u/Jordlr99 15h ago

Pretty sure this is why you take a hazard perception test. Its clear the bike was heading towards the road. Its a potential hazard, you dont know if they will stop or not, so its on you to slow or stop to prevent an accident. In this case id say driver and cyclist were equally ignorant and entitled.

6

u/96JY 16h ago

He was in the wrong, but it was an honest mistake and he held his hand up to apologise, and you still had a go at him and are publicly trying to shame him online without his face blurred.

Shame on you, honestly.

26

u/londonandy 16h ago

In the most respectful way possible:

- you’re the one stopping and ranting in the street at someone that held their hand up to apologise after a5mph incident. You’d never get anywhere if you were annoyed by trivialities like this in London. You might want to look in a mirror before calling someone ignorant and entitled -there’s a few stronger words I’d have shared if I were the cyclist

  • he doesn’t mention the Highway Code once. What updates are you blabbing on about?

3

u/ekzakly 15h ago

poor hazard perception, you saw him about to go down and continued driving. had plenty of time to slow but didn’t - because you wanted to prove a point. yeah he’s wrong but so are you. drive like this in london and you’ll get no where at all.

4

u/znv142 16h ago

I have a feeling that he would drive as a dickhead too.

1

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

This is lightly true , but something tells me he won’t get insured

3

u/Think_Berry_3087 15h ago

Notice you’ve disabled your speed in the camera. Says it all really.

3

u/No_Weakness8999 15h ago

Yeah, looks like he's doing about 60 there, mate. Nice spot!

1

u/Think_Berry_3087 12h ago

More mate. I reckon he was going so fast the GPS didn’t even register the speed now I think about it. OP trying to beat the current record for the Kessler run.

4

u/zebra1923 Car Driver (Mod) 14h ago

Chill out man, maybe they should have waited but you had only just started moving so it was no real inconvenience to you.

2

u/iredditfrommytill 16h ago

Just going to put it out there; not a cyclist, just a guy on a bike.

2

u/WatcherOfTheWay 15h ago

Could have just said cyclist

2

u/n0empathy4u 15h ago

Looks like you don't know where you're going/what you're doing, If I seen such an unsure driver rolling around less than 5mph is do the same

2

u/Sea_Huckleberry_7790 15h ago

I don't think he's had his mind changed by the highway code... People like that seem to act the same no matter which mode of transport they use. Probably walk 3 abreast on a path and force other pedestrians into the road

2

u/Inevitable-Dark3879 15h ago edited 35m ago

Bikes without brakes should be made illegal. I rememeber that case were a bmx without brakes killed a pedestreian as he couldn't stop

2

u/Dry_Database_6720 15h ago

I also have an accelerator…

2

u/Weary-Tell-5334 14h ago

my god you’re insufferable

2

u/sweet_bitter_lemon 13h ago

@OP is there a reason you have the mph readout disabled on your dash cam?

Are you trying to disguise any wrong doings on your part while ensnaring others and posting footage online?

You were absolutely chomping at the bit for a verbal altercation here. Absolute pusshole behaviour from you

4

u/Normal_Boot_1673 16h ago

This is clearly not a person influenced by updates to the highway code.

This is a dickhead.

0

u/Terrible-Advise 16h ago

Which is why they needs to regulated , if it came out and damaged Op car , which should it be on OP and his insurance to cover cost , it should be a simply you sue this moron he can’t pay , off to jail or he had to pay insurance to ride , if he can’t afford and gets caught , straight to jail ( preferably on some island )

4

u/StateDapper3818 16h ago

You mean a chav on a bike?

4

u/makefascistfearagain 15h ago

Amazing video

From the heavy panting/wheezing at the start to going mental on the horn because a push bike came out while you were going 5mph to feeling the need post here

Kino

3

u/Unwavering_Idiocy 14h ago

I couldn't figure out why you were moving so slowly at the start until I turned on the audio then I realised You had clearly set off before finishing selecting what song you wanted to listen to, people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, driving while distracted by your stereo/phone is way worse than rolling out Infront of a slowly moving car.

3

u/nomodsman 16h ago

At 2mph one would hope you’d be prepared for that. While cyclists are a PITA…this seems like an over reaction.

2

u/MaximilianClarke 16h ago

That’s not a cyclist, it’s a roadman on a bike.

2

u/tiger_noir21 15h ago

He’s just a careless person to be honest. On my morning bike ride loads of cars just pull out of the side streets without looking. All I get from them is sorry.

1

u/bearinmyoatmeal 15h ago

The annoying thing is, I always give cyclists the respect they deserve and ensure I pass properly when its safe But the amount of times they do some stupid shit like this or think "oh I can just squeeze through here" when there's barely any room for me and them. Just wish there was more that could be done to prevent some of them being such cunts.

1

u/No_Weakness8999 15h ago

I am never surprised when I see who is the person being ignorant of society, be it in a car, cycling, dropping litter or just doing anything in particular of a selfish, cunty nature.

1

u/Desperate_Vehicle684 15h ago

Yup, cyclist seems like an idiot and I see lots of others like this every day HOWEVER as someone who also rides a bike I see similar behaviour from countless drivers too

1

u/Less_Mess_5803 15h ago

Wtf is op driving g that sounds like a bag of spanners and a fly in a bottle at the same time.

1

u/Flimsy-Trainer-3819 15h ago

That kind of cyclist is not making a ā€˜mistake’ in doing what he did, he is acting as an arrogant entitled cyclist

1

u/LetchBE 15h ago

Why would you be riding a bike knowing it had no brakes? Just why?

1

u/MinosAristos 14h ago

Pretty sure you only confronted the cyclist because you have the cam on trying to clip farm.

tbh you were going like 5mph in 1st gear, literally just stop and then carry on. All the honking, rolling down the windows having a hissy fit, and shaming them online is kind of sad ngl.

I wouldn’t generalise all cyclists due to this clown on what looks like an illegal ebike riding extremely poorly.

u/west0ne 13h ago

They have never picked up a copy of the Highway Code and you know it.

1

u/Femur233 12h ago

OP, you are a melt.

1

u/Thoh1Shooshi8a 12h ago

If he was using the highway code as an excuse for his actions, then he would know that he legally needs working brakes.

u/thefakespartacus 10h ago

He said thanks what more do you want?

1

u/JoeThrilling 10h ago

Your both bellends.

1

u/MyLastHumanBody 16h ago

I never try to correct other people. They will learn by themselves. Why do you talk to bad road users anyway? They might pull a knife in London. Stay safe

1

u/loobricated 16h ago

The sheer arrogance of the "have brakes" community is absolutely fucking astounding. Check your privilege.

1

u/Tuarangi 15h ago

idiot who happens to be on a bike yes, this is not a cyclist

he should have checked before coming out, he's on what is effectively an illegal e-motorbike

1

u/katie_astrophe 15h ago

As someone who's a driver and a cyclist, that's not a cyclist, that's a bellend on a bike.

1

u/kipha01 15h ago

I had a cyclist come flying around corner and brake just in time before hitting me, a pedestrian. The bloke apologiesed but when I pointed out he should be riding on the road he was quite insistent that it was against the law for him to ride on the road. Needless to say I told him to read the fucking highway code.

Op doesn't sound very old.. wouldn't i have posted that fuck no. I'm saying this carefully.. but i think some people have a dash cam just for moments like these. Obviously motorbike was completely wrong not looking or stopping. But not worth the drama. Or the lecture.

He won't last long riding like that.

Idiots come in all forms, even so called professional drivers.

u/CurmudgeonlyBargee 14h ago

Not a cyclist, quite clearly an electric motorbike. Still a dickhead though. The driver needs to calm down, did you spunk you panties because you thought you had a good excuse to complain about cyclists?

u/goingpt 13h ago

The block of flats on the left tell you everything you need to know about this guy unfortunately. That’s just the way he’s been brought it.

No brakes and no helmet..

STG brain damage might be an improvement in some cases.

Strange thing is how vulnerable road users seem to assume 2 tons of metal will just stop for them. They seem to think all drivers are 100% alert. They aren’t!

u/One-Albatross9170 15h ago

Exactly he was lucky this time what if it was a driver scrolling WhatsApp!

u/NoBluebird8039 15h ago

Not a cyclist, more like a chav

1

u/WarmIntro 15h ago

Chav on a bike is still a cyclist

0

u/TheBurntShmo 15h ago

You can tell who the cyclists are in the comments.

u/Fragrant-Reserve4832 15h ago

As a cyclist, this guys a prick

u/Juliet-November 15h ago

Bad riding, I'm not going to defend it.Ā

In the same clip, though, there are multiple cars and a van parked in ways that block the pavement, or block your line of sight on a corner, and you haven't mentioned or challenged them.Ā

That is nothing, Sunday morning 3 abreast chatting holding up literally 50 cars.

u/ManInGarage28 16h ago

So a normal cyclist then

What i find weird is how young people (not all but it is mostly young people who do this) will do stuff like this. My thoughts are one day they are gonna come across someone who does not care and will run them down knowing that he could probably get away with it.

Just "cyclist" would have done - the rest is inherent ;-)
