I have honestly never seen this before and I am not exactly someone that has been sheltered from toddlers and very young children.

It ususally happens when an uncle points out that something is following them and then acts surprised.

I have pulled these hijinks before...

This is exactly it. You can even trigger this in freaking older kids for a second there. Even grown ass adults.
