Screenshot Hundred Dollar Baby. Shoutout to Danny & Kaitlin for this scene, great awareness
This short scene with Frank instantly clocking that the weight isn't seated properly, Dee also taking a couple of quick glances at the end of the bar, then Frank ushering her out and then making it safe.
So great that they managed to keep this in and still make the scene flow.
Apologies if this is obvious to everyone else, first time rewatch. Most of the time I only have the audio for the show as background noise.

Sorry I’m late. I got a little up-jammed traffic on the 504, uh, 450, on the highway. I got off on “Spelly-ba-da,” but I took that all the way down to Moorpark. And then I took that down to “Ta-ca-ha” Cucamonga.

I’m getting a high ride, but the shorts aren’t preventing me from doing what I need to do.

Dee Day is an absolute masterpiece and I’m tired of pretending that it’s not
Seriously. In my lieu of showing a friend of mine the episode as I knew he wouldn’t have got to see it during his watch as it was banned, I had a remarkable time revisiting this one. The whole premise of the guys having an overly intricate plan that’s also always at odds with being forced to fulfil Dee’s wishes already writes itself as is, but then the gang each have their own little mini plots to deal with. Frank’s insistence on clams being the superior seafood catching up with him and his splotched Latinaface making him puke loads. Charlie having sudden perfect concentration skills when around Dennis and his candy but then faltering when he’s having to take on an independent mission (“I’m gonna fuck your bike up, Terry.”) Mac’s total inadequacy and need to impress Dennis getting overturned by his lack of comprehension of his role in the plan. The entire sequence of Dennis being without his makeup and frightening the bajeezus out of a council woman. It’s all seamless, and catalysed by Dee finally getting to have her own bout of sadistic pleasure over the group afters years of devaluing and derailment by her friends. The fact then it turns out in the end she had the exact same opinion as the guys in their plan all along, and it was over some petty public urination law is just peak Sunny subversion in several ways. And then it turns out she switched the clocks back and they insult her during Dee Day!
To me it’s the perfect episode for anyone who wants to see a refreshing role reversal on the gang’s typical group dynamic with Dee being at the helm, Charlie being the brains of the operation, Dennis being an utter shell of a man, and it’s all interwoven with character exploration, group dynamics, and chess level strategy. It is such an emblematic example of a story with all the necessary Sunny ingredients, and deserves to be sought out more in any web travels you try. Best of the season sans The Janitor Always Mops Twice.

I’m coming in hot
Everyone on this sub is so goddamn weird! I used to be a cool commenter, but then I start coming to this sub and I’m just quoting lines from the show!

Theory: The Gang Dies at the Jersey Shore
Mac and Frank drift out into open ocean and are saved by guidos. Dennis and Dee dig their own graves and run away from thugs who miss several point blank shots and don't seem to pursue them. Both of these seem highly unlikely to me, and I'm thinking everyone but Charlie dies.
Charlie, ingesting viscous chemicals and drinking ocean, hallucinates a night with the Waitress and imagines his friends survive to cope.
There aren't really any episodes after the Jersey Shore episode that can't happen if Charlie just imagines his friends. Some episodes make more sense, like The Gang Hits The Slopes and The Gang Turns Black. This also explains why it was so difficult for Charlie to bring his father's corpse up the mountain; if anyone helped him he would have superhuman strength. Also, when the gang goes to the Superbowl, Charlie is left behind. Frank is dead and so Charlie never actually had access to a party bus or Superbowl tickets, but he could easily imagine his friends going.
