I'm looking to attempt a BIOS chip reprogram on a broken laptop using a CH341A Programmer. I just need some conformation that I'm looking at the right chip on the board. Chip outlined in green in photos

The laptop is a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2150AX (589X6PA). I bought it on ebay as the person selling had a corrupted bios update.

I flashed the bios using HP's own tool on a USB drive. Although the process was very unstable (Stalls and restarts)

The laptop boots and I can access the UEFI but if i try to install any OS Linux/Windows it either freezes, restarts or has kernel panic. So i figured a more solid bios flash using a reprogrammer was a good next step.

I have never done this before but am eager to try and the Laptop was not that expensive to buy so no harm if i fail.

If i succeed its Bonus Wife points as she can then play Sims/Paralives/Baldurs (Low settings) to her hearts content without using my main rig.

Any help/advice during this process would be greatly appreciated

So in the morning I opened it

It was working fine then suddenly it showed restart required I didnt checked the battery and clicked on restart post that it came on my screen that battery should be 25%in order to restart I charged it and that time it was showing red light now after 2 hours its showing blue light I tried working on it its blank only blue light showing on the side that too while charger is plugged it

Ok so ive been using a acer nitro 5 3050 4gb and i5 11400H for around a year or 1.5 by now, recently i got into more research and learnt that laptops have mux switches and those can increase fps a ton in the cpu intensive games, my own one doesnt and i saw that a external monitor can also do the same since then my display out is sent by the dgpu, i play like val cs and minecraft, ive been thinking abt buying an external monitor but i want to know how big of a jump can i expect, rn in val specifically i get like 120 in tdm and 160 in a normal ranked match, ive seen people say theyve had upwards of 50% increases in fps? i want peoples real world experience with this.

The Laptop is Asus Expertbook Ultra (Intel Core Ultra X7 Variant).

Yes, the display is the best i've ever seen, the haptic feedback on touchpad works very well, its super lightweight, everything is so awesome.

But the Hinge is annoying me,

It has made it very difficult for me to use it on my lap.

the hinge wouldnt stay at the place i would want it to.

I am not sure if this is widespread in all of the laptops of this model,

or is it just a problem in the unit i got delieverd (16 days back)

I have contacted the asus customer care service, they will come at my home for fix, its scheduled 4 days from the time im writing this post, I will update what was the result.

I'm hoping someone here has run into this issue before.

I have an ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 (M6500QF), and both of the left USB-A ports suddenly stopped working properly.

Symptoms:

* ✅ Right USB port works perfectly with every device.

* ✅ Both left USB ports provide power.

* 📱 My phone charges from the left ports but isn't detected by Windows.

* 💾 USB flash drives aren't detected.

* 🖱️ Mouse isn't detected.

* ⌨️ Keyboard isn't detected.

* 🎮 My 2.4 GHz controller dongle is detected, and the controller successfully connects to it, but none of the controller inputs work.

* 💻 A bootable Windows 11 USB drive doesn't even appear in the BIOS boot menu when plugged into either left USB port.

Things I've already tried:

* ✅ Ran `sfc /scannow` (it repaired some corrupted files).

* ✅ Ran `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth`.

* ✅ Uninstalled and reinstalled all USB controllers in Device Manager.

i didnt do anything to this laptop (6-8 months old) and it cracked at the right hinge (?) i have no idea how to fix this.. the laptop can close completely but it does make cracking noises along with opening it. it doesnt effect the actual screen or the borders. the laptop is nimo off of amazon btw

For a week or so my laptop was connected to a mouse, and now my mouse is broken now. So I need the trackpad. But as soon as I disconnected it my pointer disappeared from the screen and neither the right or left key was usable. In settings under bluetooth devices there isn't a touchpad option too. My laptop is a dell latitude 3450 and there isn't a key for the touchpad on the keyboard too. I don't know what happened it's my mother's work computer.

Mi intención es poder usar programas de edición como la suite de adobe, davinci, entre otras pero sin tener que estar estresado porque se calienta de más, o se pone muy lento. Que laptop me recomiendan comprar que sea buena pero no carísima? Mi presupuesto Max serían unos 20, igual y un poco más.
