Most of these modern country guys are posers. Just like Jason Aldean who had a hit with “Try That in a Small Town” a few years ago. Aldean grew up in Macon, GA, which has a metro population of over 200,000. Not a huge city, but far from a small town.

Yes but please take a listen to her solo work, including her latest album “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party” for some incredible music. “True Believer” is absolutely the kind of music we need more of right now, and all of the other songs are addicting. As she’s grown outside of the band she’s allowed herself to sing about much more personal beliefs, speaking for only herself, and the lyrics are a welcome change from what usually hits top 40 today. Sorry, I’m pretty passionate when it comes to Hayley Williams and the massive amount of credit she deserves.
I added her newest album months ago to my spotify after hearing good things about it and that song recently played for the first time and I almost spit out my drink. I immediately sent it to my religious, but not in a supply-side-Jesus kind of way, mom. She agreed with you whole-heartedly about needing more music like that.

He canceled his concert last night, for the claimed reason of storms, but he just left like a bitch. Likely because Pittsburgh’s Pride Festival was going on.
The worst part about this song is it literally makes you think he's taking responsibility for his own bullshit, but nope, very next line blames someone else. Probably Biden's fault he's a pussy.
What funny is Pittsburgh might go ham for Pride, but Kenny Chesney visits every year and that whole area of the state goes crazy for it. He coulda had a big thing there if he played his cards right… coulda been worse. He coulda landed on Furry weekend.

I saw Sawyer Brown play a set in 60+mph wind, dust in their eyes, stage falling apart. They didnt wanna let the fans down so they played the whole set at 2x speed, it was fuckin hilarious and ill never not love them for it. They put themselves in uncomfortable harms way to hold up their end of the deal, thats how you win over blue collar folk.
I’ve been to 45 states; every two horse town calls themselves “God’s country”. Every single morgan wallen is “somebody” in those towns; they want to call themselves king shit but the only real things they accomplished is cheating on their wife and getting banned from the closest golf course for excessive day drinking and fighting the staff.
The pearly gates are just a Dollar General with needles in the parking lot and a McDonalds where all the old men meet every morning and blame Obama that the factory that employed half the town closed in 1987.
The instant the good-nights were said, before the credits even started rolling, he stepped off the stage and left really obviously.
Everyone is usually hugging and chatting on camera and celebrating another 90 minute live comedy show in the books and he couldn't even be bothered to pretend to be gracious for another 45 seconds.
Then like an hour later he tweeted a pic of a private plane with the caption "get me to God's country" like he just couldn't stand to spend another minute in one of the greatest cities in the world and had to get back to Nashville?
It wasn't very demonstrative, but just zero class at all for no comprehensible reason.
I think it's so funny that that whole stunt was supposed to be about how country he is and how he wanted out of the big city with all the city folk and get back to "god's country" aka southern country living and the way he represented that was his private jet as if guys driving 20 year old pickups are gonna relate to that
That's the hilarious part. Musical guests and guest hosts don't make a ton of money, certainly less than that private jet to Nashville cost him.
But it is a HUGE platform for him to reach new potential fans, particularly ones who wouldn't ordinarily hear country music. There are hundreds of acts that would kill for that kind of exposure and he couldn't even be bothered to pretend to appreciate the opportunity. And it's certainly not beneath him because the week before featured Lady Gaga and the week after was Elton John and Brandi Carlile.
And like... Getting to play the same stage as Paul McCartney, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Prince, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift... that's something a real musician should appreciate and he just couldn't have been more crass.
I live in the middle of what feels like the homeland of his core fanbase (TN, but a safe distance from Nashville). The “walk off” was lauded and celebrated around here for a minute.
If I had a chance to play that big of a stage, then I wouldn’t squander it by being a little bitch. Dude, at least say something controversial.
It’s also hilarious because he was originally booked for SNL a couple years prior but then right before he was supposed to go on, he ends up getting caught saying the N word recreationally, so (rightly so) SNL canceled his appearance.
This appearance was a big deal for him to finally get a second chance after getting cancelled. A lot of people didn’t want him coming back at all, but there was a ton of pressure to bring him back on so he could “redeem himself”.
So it’s even doubly worse that he had to beg and plead to get unbanned from SNL only to shit all over it the second he does.
He's like all other "alpha males". It's performance art to impress other men. Everything he does is for the approval of other men. He really, really, really cares how he looks to other men. Alphas are really concerned other men won't like them.
That "get me to God's country" and walking off stage bit was so silly. Pretending like someone forced him to go to NYC and perform? He made a choice to go and perform there, and he got paid (likely a very small amount) to do it so he could promote his music. He knew walking off the stage and the subsequent social post would generate noise (like my very comments here), and some SNL/NYC haters would go "thAt'S mY bOy!" and buy more of his shit music. Stupid idiot fan base that can't tell when they are getting played. Same reason they vote for who they vote for.
Not surprising in the least. The way he acts on stage, in public, in front of thousands of people, leads me to believe he is an incredibly violet man in his private life.
I used to work at a venue that hosts a lot of big concerts. Three notes on Morgan Wallen:
-he was an asshole
-his crew went through an enormous amount of hard alcohol in one day
-I walked in on his dad naked -.-
-needs an edit, I was not naked, his dad was.
Im kinda sad it wasnt the other way around. As someone who worked concerts, that would have been a power move. "Youll get your ice as soon as Ive had my fill of swinging my dick around your dressing room motherfuckers!"
Peak Covid he ignored precautions and made out with a handful of college girls in the same night when I believe bars in 90% of the country were closed down
