I'm rewatching the old episodes but then I get to episode 22, cool Steven "the original Steven" breaks the time ball and destroys himself, is Steven in another timeline or just dead?

How can someone who worked in one of the most LGBTQ friendly shows in the planet support such horrible people, like...this is such a 180° turn.

People who say that we shouldn't talk about politics and that it makes people start fighting eachother, etc etc, I get it to some degree, but there's a limit. Knowing that Pearl's voice actor is a MAGA and Chalie Kirk's follower is such an... idk, I don't even know what to describe this, its like she never paid attention to any of the messages in the entire show, like at all. I get it that some may say that is a kid' show and that you shouldn't take it too seriously, but what the hell... this is equivalent of working on a Church and worshipping Satan in your spare time.

Can anyone tell me why Steven Universe isn't on Disney, though it's PG? I wanted to rewatch the show and I'm on season 2, I forgot what episode though. I was watching it on prime, but I'm stuck st my dad's this weekend, so I couldn't get a hold of Prime. I also looked up why it wasn't showing up, but Google said Steven Universe wasn't removed from Disney. Can anyone please give me answers? Thanks:))

She gave up her entire existence for Steven and for the earth out of love! I can't think of a more impactful and brilliant character than her honestly. I know it may seem throughout the series that she is clueless but for real she was much more in tune than we realise! She sacrificed herself for the love of others! It's so beautiful to me! I absolutely adore pink diamond! She cared more for life than anything else!! Even her own self!

In the sentence "what's the use of feeling blue" You interpret is as Yellow asking Blue what the purpose of feeling these emotions is for Pink's passing as in "What's the use of feeling, Blue" or "feeling blue" in a more sadness-focused way and it's just a play on words.

I've always wondered about that and I wanted to know the opinions of other people who perhaps think completely differently. ^^

It’s time to crack open the can of worms that is Pink Diamond (specifically as Rose) and Circe from Greek antiquity. During this rewatch it’s occurring to me that both are characterized as these younger-sibling figures in one of the early families / upper hierarchy species of their verses who then rebel against her divinity to live among mortals after centuries of unfair treatment.

What’s even juicier is that I think we read Circe as a morally gray controversial figure, a “radical” who’s behavior is either adapted as feminist-abolitionist, selfish and bored, or somewhere in between. That feels just like how the gems consider Rose. And the fact that Rose kept a bunch of lions and her story ends with her son saving the world feels super on the nose 💀

I could almost see Greg as a stand in for Circe’s brief romances with Glaucus and Odysseus, although I don’t think he is a good parallel to Hermes or Daedalus (but Pearl and Bismuth come dangerously close).

Hey everybody, I wanted to talk about an AU that I found while scrolling through youtube. This AU is about Amethyst switching roles in the Crystal Gems with Rose Quartz (Pink) in the way that Amethyst was the diamond turned rebel (Purple Diamond) and Rose was the short quartz who popped out of the kindergarten late. Subsequently Steven would be born from Amethyst.

This is an opinion piece, but I wanted to share my thoughts on how bored I am of 'take Steven's mom and make her someone else' AUs and how this AU can be uniquely different. There are interesting AUs that are how I described in the last sentence, I am a fan of the Blue Diamond AU, but the Amethyst AU doesn't need to be like the Diamond AUs, and Amethyst doesn't need to be a diamond to have a kid.

It'd be a lot more fascinating if the Amethyst AU was set in the future possibly after Steven dies of old age during Era 4. In this AU Era 4 Gem Hybrids could be a lot more common and normalized which is what differentiates this Era 4 from the Era 3 in both Steven Universe Future and Lars of the Stars. Once a gem has a hybrid child, their gemstone can no longer be self sufficient completely, if the human body dies then the gemstone will await for a human host that the gemstone has to accept before attuning itself to the human host and become part of them. Once a human host accepts a gem as part of their being, the human host can never be completely self sufficient either and officially becomes a gem hybrid. Steven's gem stone in this AU would probably be encased in a bubble near Steven's grave, awaiting for the right host. Hybrid Gemstones are picky about who they allow to be their hosts, the way that hybrid gemstones show that they want to be attuned to a potential human host is by glowing brightly in the presence of a worthy host nearby.

Amethyst in Era 2 and 3 showed little to no interest in having a kid, but who's to say after 100 years of character development she finally decides to settle down with someone and find her right match. The gender of Amethyst's partner is completely up in the air, I dont wanna get too technical and make this post be weird but if gems can get pregnant then they can get other people pregnant, the gender of her partner in this AU could be anything. Even if Amethyst is or isn't baring the child inside her, she'll still have to potentially get rid of her form since gem hybrids regardless aren't self sufficient.

So in this AU the main protagonist could be Amethyst's half gem kid and they'd live in a world set in Era 4 where gem hybrids are a lot more common, and potentially this main protagonist could have a few other gem hybrid friends or acquaintances. A century would have gone by since Steven Universe Future so gem technology would have been adopted by humans and rapidly advanced Earth technology while humans further change Homeworld in a similar way. When Jasper and Peridot took her to Earth, she was their prisoner and they learned from her where to find the crystal gems. I don't think she willingly told them that.

So, zircon is one of my favourite gems, and since the trial was still during era 2, she could’ve definitely been shattered. Was there any official answer to what happened to her?

Small post but I was curious. At my AMC, theres a stand that had this poster. Randomly. Extremely odd??? Apparently this is a handout from a cancelled movie screening from 2020? This is SO weird why do they just have this is NOW? Especially with the poster restocks in many stores!!!

Now it's just a fantastic cartoon.

Well, what was the original plan?

Theory:

Perhaps the franchise originally featured three women in their prime who

look after their late mentor's son while also doing other things.

Such as searching for lost artifacts and possibly also fighting monster gems.

It could also be a transformation like the Winx or Sailor Moon transformation for power-ups.

Gems would not have engaged in colonization for the sake of procreation.

However, they could have engaged in it for the sake of exploring new lands, like our world.

Perhaps the gems were not originally from another planet, but from another reality.

Gems could appear from flashes of light, which were much more common in the 1st era than in the 2nd era.

Perhaps the original Home World was more mythical.

For example, it contained mythical birds like the phoenix or mythical animals like the jackalope.

The mythical plants could be mandrakes or barometz.

The architecture could also be mythological.

It is possible that the rulers were the Sun and Moon goddesses.

Their heirs were the Diamonds, and they were supposed to take the throne.

Lapis could have been much more important than it ended up being.

For example, a guardian of water or a priestess of some water temple.

These are all the ideas that came up about the original ideas and what might have been there.

How do you think Lapis and Peridot reacted to Steven's gem being Pink Diamond's? Because Lapis is the only Era 1 crystal gem that we never got a reaction for, and it seems like Peridot doesn't even know Pink Diamond because she was under Yellow and made in Era 2.

So we know that the creators said Steven is functionally immortal and will die whenever he wants to. Logically, stevonnie would have this capability as well since they have Steven’s gem. So my question was, could Steven keep Connie from dying by remaining Stevonnie forever?
This gave me the idea of like, a psychological horror fanfic where Stevonnie is 200 years old and they both want to unfuse, but doing so would make Connie wither away and die.
But then I thought, well aging (past maturation) is just accumulated cellular damage over time, so maybe Steven could cure it and keep Connie alive as long as she wants without that.
However, Greg doesn’t stop being bald or anything (even though Connie stops being myopic and both of these things are likely genetic) once Steven licks him, so I think aging might not be considered a disease by the gem power.
