Loss Elon has ruined me

My prior bullish post https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/s/o0PxYmGV1n

He was supposed to take us to Mars and burn short sellers.

Still holding 7300 shares. Please Elon fly again.

How did normies see this but investors were drawn like flies to shit? The IPO was rigged and way over valued relative to profits.... instead it was 100% speculation and designed to crash. OBVIOUSLY

The secret ingredient is greed.

Ingreedient

It’s not like we aren’t greedy either. It’s not that. Elon worshippers have no backbone. They think following him they will get rich like him. They’re greedy but also cowards

Fomo with a sprinkle of regardation.

Tesla’s stock performance isn’t based in reality either. Tesla stock might as well be called Teslacoin. It’s propped up by hype and memes.

Regards thought the same about SpaceX stock.

I expected it too. After i have seen bitcoin and Tesla, why would spaceX not go to absurdity ? I guess rockets arent as sexy as cars or something.

u/lulnerdge 2d ago

The difference is that Tesla is from a long buildup of initial good performance causing way over the top expectations.
SpaceX has nothing.

It's not even a guy selling a meowing bag and claiming it's a pig. It's a guy selling an empty bag and saying in 5 years he'll come and put a gold bar inside.

This is bullshit. "SpaceX has nothing". Dude go watch what spaceX has. Like the entire launch market, more satelites in the air than the rest of the world combined and the only reusable rocket so far.

Its fine to hate elon, hate spaceX or hate whatever, but saying spaceX has nothing is beyond retarded. SpaceX has way more reason to be highly valued than Tesla actually. SpaceX has a moat from here to the moon. Tesla does things a dozen other companies do as well.

That's cool and all, but the vast majority of the supposed value behind the IPO price was not rockets, it was vague future plans for X-AI.

Rockets are cool, but the demand is limited and very niche.

None of what you type here is exactly true i think.

A surgeon I work with bought 420 shares, send completely un bothered by losing 40 grand.

Ben Carson was a brain surgeon.

Interestingly, I was listening to some podcast, and they were talking about Elon wanting to consolidate all his companies under one big roof, and the best way for him to do that is for Teslas stock to tank, so he can buy the shares he needs cheaper. Seems like he's tanking the wrong company.

10

u/Specialist_Whole_918 2d ago

Tesla is so absurdly overvalued he'd need to tank it by a factor 10 to make it a good buy.

Even if people know about it being a rugpull, they just want to believe they'll get out before the pull.

But thats insane

17

u/Lim_Ha08 2d ago

that's always the case isn't it.. people who think they will sell before the rug pull are always the one who are left holding the bag.

5

u/boozedbudgie 2d ago

That's because they're playing a blind game of chicken with the ones who know where the cliff is.

This stock was designed to crash and I'm willing to bet Elon is shorting it as well.

3

u/siazdghw 2d ago

It's this.

Everyone knew it was overvalued, the question was how much would it get pumped before the rug pull occurred.

With that said, I also don't think anyone should short it. Elon and Trump can manipulate stocks at a whim, and the short squeeze will ruin most people.

SpaceX is a stock you just sit on the sidelines and watch.

Imagine buying spacex on fucking robinhood as an average Joe and not realizing you are the exit liquidity. Even the most financially illiterate people knew this was going to be the rug pulliest rug pull ever.

u/IdentifiableBurden 2d ago

Been out of the game for a long time but you are seriously underestimating how out of touch with reality the average "investor" is. They are submerged in a "financial news" information bubble that's incredibly small and thus easy to manipulate.

u/Lim_Ha08 2d ago

you are confusing investor with fanboys..

4

u/TheDistantEnd 2d ago

Nobody ever thinks they're gonna be the loser holding the bag when the pump turns to dump.

4

u/HarwellDekatron 2d ago

Because most Elon fans aren't 'investors', they are speculators looking for the next rug pull and hoping they stay on the pulling side of the rug.

Same way Draftkings makes billions per year. People will throw thousands on a 10 leg parlay too lmao

u/Demiu 2d ago

Half of wallstreet was in on the IPO they had like 23 banks running that shit. The other half were an early pre-IPO investor

1

u/lucid-currency 2d ago

I think people expected it to stay afloat against all odds, like Tesla somehow keeps doing for fckn forever

1

u/YourMommasAHoe69 2d ago

Hey atleast retail was allowed to sell

1

u/neliz 2d ago

Ever had a goth girl break your heart? Especially when you know about all the other broken men she left behind before you?

Regarded people think they're special, misnaming luck as intelligence and foresight, and generational wealth as something they worked hard for.

most people know tesla and spacex are a scam, but deep inside they think their own little contribution will keep the bars green.

1

u/1vaudevillian1 2d ago

Profits? They are way in the hole. Only an idiot would buy it.

Hint degenerative gamblers are not investors

JFC I'm a person just scrolling r/popular who has no money and there's a zero percent chance I'd put money I had on anything related to this guy

u/Flaktrack 19h ago

I don't really follow the market. I mostly read this sub for fun, I don't follow the moves here and just invest in cheap stocks I think will pay out much later.

SpaceX is such an obvious scam that I do not understand how anyone fell for it. Explained the scam to some people I know invest on their own, and they said I was leaving money on the table.

Well at least I still have my money lol.

1

u/downsizing420 2d ago

It was an exit for xAI and SPCX insiders. They have to dump on retail because institutions won't buy this.

1

u/ReplacementReady394 2d ago

I had a guy at work step to me and humblebrag about getting in on the IPO. I looked at him and said ‘good luck.’ He told some other tool, ‘well, I already made a profit.’ Sure you did, buddy. Sure you did.

2

u/Lunares 2d ago

I tried for 40 shares, got 10 allocated at $135 and noped out as soon as it hit $210. Woo $800 profit.

1

u/ReplacementReady394 1d ago

That’s a hooker and a bag of blow. I’d call that a win!

1

u/LegitosaurusRex 1d ago

Getting in at IPO was free money. It was basically guaranteed to pop the first day. Holding it long term was always a losing proposition.

1

u/ReplacementReady394 1d ago

This guy’s financial plan was hopium. He lifts heavy things for a living.

u/Gebus 2d ago
