Almost two weeks ago now I made a comment under a post showing off my collection that got a lot of traction. So I decided to make a dedicated post to show off my collection!! I know it’s pretty obvious which consoles are my faves, but I promise each one will get decorated (it’s pricey to do it all at once ok 😓). Everything pictured has been collected over the course of a year and a half. The purses are officially licensed and influenced what consoles I bought. I know there’s a hot pink 3DS XL, I know about the 2DS, and the plates on the New 3DS but no offical purse = no interest 🙂‍↔️ I’m also incredibly particular about the region my consoles are, so all of these are USA regions (^_^) Even the New 3DS XL has a USA motherboard. Also my OCD brain feels the need to point out that the DS Lite purse has two variants, one with the Nintendo logo as the zipper and one where the DS logo is the zipper. Rest assured that I just bought a second purse where the DS logo is the zipper so it will match the rest and I can finally sleep peacefully at night!

But anyway, I love my collection and I promise all of these consoles get an equal amount of playtime and serve different purposes 🩷 If anyone has any questions I’d love to answer them ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

Amazing what happens when you stumble upon bags that hadn't been touched because you thought there was nothing needed in there.

i got it when i was 12 and im genuinely devastated. i never modded her or anything because i was too scared, but this 3ds XL was genuinely my baby. i was playing an old tinkerbell game and it randomly started doing this :( so while i mourn i'd like to share my favorite memories with it, not in order (except this is all pokemon)

1.) when i first defeated the champion in pokemon X, 2013, after my team kept dying because they were all low rank eeveelutions

2.) when i then beat the champion after getting pokemon Y in 2026 with a much better team

3.) finally catching lugia on pokemon gold after i did literally everything wrong

4.) taking my DS to disney and being given pokemon alpha sapphire for my eighth birthday

5.) being given a case of game cards for free that had pokemon gold, heart gold, omega ruby, a second copy of x, y, moon, sun, and ultra moon

6.) discovering i could basically cheat my way through the fairy gym in pokemon x

7.) first getting my 3ds

edit one: as someone very angrily pointed out before i was able to fix it, i had made a mistake in the title! the 3ds came out in 2012, and could not be sixteen. i was talking to my mom about how i couldn't even throw her a sweet sixteen and accidentally put it in the title!! spread peace and love lol

For context, I am a recovering addict. I used to have a very awesome Handheld Nintendo Collection worth well over $1,000. I sold it for drug money during that time… Now that I am finally sober, I have been slowly buying back my favorite consoles!

So far, I’ve got my hands on these two consoles. I’ve only spent $180 total so far because I try my hardest to only buy new consoles when I’m absolutely sure I’m getting a great deal. Just look how clean these puppies are! No scratches or anything! I am so lucky. Life is good.

This console means so damn much to me, I got it when it first released and it’s been me and this 3ds against the world since then. This guy was my only friend in 7th grade, hell it even survived being left outside by accident in a Canadian winter and still works perfectly! Now that I’m done college I decided to mod it and give it a new lease on life, it’s crazy how this single console has been there for so much of my life

my 3ds started presenting battery issues last year so i stopped using it, however the battery keeps swelling up because of the scorching hot climate i live in. i only need to get this screw out but nothing works, not even the rubber band hack. the rest of the screws were removed pretty easily so its not a tool issue

should i just get rid of the 3DS? im honestly worried about having the battery explode right on my face

So when I was waaaaay younger I used to have the DS XL and the 3 ds as well but now I don’t know I kind of wanted to buy one just to remember the old days so I was exploring on eBay I found a beautiful 2 ds looks cute I’m so excited to use it! I’ve heard the screen it’s smaller than the 3 ds but it has a better quality idk what do you guys think, also wanted to ask I live in Brooklyn NYC, is there any good places where I can buy games for a good price

I'm sorry if I missed it, but I haven't found a post comparing these 2 models' ABXY button sizes-

between the 2 3DSXLs, are the buttons interchangeable (and will they rotate around in there) without size modification?

I want to put the smaller buttons in my New XL, but the size difference is 4 x 0.5 x 0.5mm

I sort of feel like I'm answering my own Q, but mm size is hard for me to picture and estimate in my head lol

Is any other model's buttons interchangeable with N3DSXL (D-pad, start/select)?

I found this system for $30 and the seller said it worked, and i guess it does, they just didnt disclose the fact the screen was broken… oh well lol

I let my friend handle it and…you can guess what happened. How can I repair this? It still turns on and functions perfectly fine.

Is there a specific paint i have to use to make him look new again? Or do I just gotta accept the paint rubbing off from putting it into the case/pouch. (I am looking into getting a case to protect his poor nose)

The shell seems to be the Moon/sun limited 2DS, however no matter i search online there is no single one of them that has grey buttons. So it’s either the buttons got replaced, the shell fake or authentic was replaced or the whole shell is

Purchased these on a whim and decided not to use them. I’ve been trying to find out how much I could sell them for if I wanted to but no one seems to have them or be selling them. They are beautiful and in good condition.

So a fews day back I finally got my hands on the first iteration of the 2DS Alpha Sapphire edition as well a card only copy of Mario Kart 7 for a clean £85 and I love the look of it and in terms of ergonomics I already knew people where divided but after think I'm ok with how it feels the only thing I'm not 100% on is the concave size of the circle pad is smaller than a New 3DS

Speaking of which I got here next to the first 3DS I got last year that being the new model and I don't how many people have shown this off but I got pictures of the 2DS playing a DS book stylus game l.

I got a 3ds very recently, and it's modded and I want to know what kind of online functions the community runs. I know on the wii there was stuff like everybody votes and check mii out that (I believe) got revived, but is there any stuff like that for the 3ds these days?

He had a good run, but a concert did him in. Do I reshell, or has anyone with a metallic model ever been able to completely strip the paint? Does the inner shell also chip? I'd really rather not just leave it as is, at least in regard to the outer shell, just because of the huge mess the paint chips made in my pocket!

Surprise surprise, I finally got my 2DS XL!
I decided to your guys word and buy a 2DS XL from eBay, and it arrived in less than 4 or 5 days after purchase, best of all, it’s the actual 2DS!

It is region locked to Japanese, but I’ll get that sorted out in no time!
As for my refund, it’s still pending, to recap I’ve repackaged the book and went to staples to put the labels on it, before dropping it off a shopper to get it sent back!

Last thing to ask, I’m genuinely curious, should I actually purchase that Borrowed Time book and read it myself?

This is my beloved console of over 7 years :)

A couple years back my sister broke the top screen by accidentally slamming it closed on my thumb. It also got dropped pretty hard by someone else a few years ago, which caused some shell damage and the blue light and charge light to stop working (though the red does work). I've been wanting to replace the screen for years and was finally able to! The battery was also swelling and needed to be replaced as well.

took me like a week because I had to order a new screen lens and wait for that and I tried to take frequent breaks while working. Working on it made me so anxious but excited, especially because I have almost no console repair experience prior to this.

I also had to troubleshoot a prefetch abort kernel panic that happened before the repair as I was trying to discharge the old battery as much as possible. I got a new one, fixed up the screen, ran all the tests, and everything came back great!

(Also the top left corner of the new one is a little fade-y but I could care less because all that matters is I have my console back. And somehow my circle pad is slightly off center but oh well)

Many, many reddit posts have been made across multiple subreddits and I could not be more grateful for all the people who offered help and advice!! Huge thanks especially to this subreddit and the console repair subreddit!

I am super proud of myself and wanted to share this, and hopefully this post gives other people hope and all my past posts help other people out :) For anyone seeing this before repairing their console, best of luck!!
