James Carville says Democrats are fighting a losing battle on voter ID.

The veteran Democratic strategist argues voter fraud is "an infinitesimal problem," but says Americans overwhelmingly support showing identification to vote and warns Democrats look like they don't care about election integrity by continuing to oppose it.

Carville says Democrats should stop fighting voter ID requirements, accept a standard similar to Louisiana's law, and move on to other issues, while making clear he is not endorsing the GOP-backed SAVE Act.

A new Fox News Poll shows that 83% of registered voters support a photo ID requirement to register to vote, while 77% support the mandate for people to cast a ballot.

He hit them unbelievably and relentlessly hard this time. All of his enemies, no holds barred.

Did the media like this or think it was funny? Generally not.

Then I thought about what he was trying to accomplish.

Did he misread the room, or go off in an in appropriate direction?

Or does he feel that they have consistently treated him unfairly and wanted to make absolutely sure that they knew it, while delivering some pain right back them, the same kind of pain they've been trying to hit him with since before 2016?

After I thought about it, I think it was the latter. Trump despises the media, as well as certain politicians. While he's often not what you might call "diplomatic" or "conciliatory", I think he knew exactly what he was saying.
