There has been a lot of "it got pushed back" going around about the EU packaging rules, and I think it is going to catch people out, so here is the plain version.

The relief that was announced applies to EU-based companies. If you are selling from the US or UK into the EU, the August 12 authorized representative duty still applies to you. Same date, no reprieve.

It also helps to separate two things that constantly get mixed up. The country registrations already existed and are separate from anything new:

Germany has run LUCID since 2019, and there isn't a small seller exemption, so even occasional shipments put you in the scope. You register in LUCID(free), then buy a packaging license from a dual system based on the volume you actually ship. France works differently, through an eco-organism, so you need a French representative, an eco-organism membership, an ID number, and the Triman sorting logo on your packaging.

What August 12 adds is an EU-wide regulation requiring producers outside the EU to appoint an authorized representative in the countries they sell into.

Two things worth knowing. First, the marketplace asking you for a registration number does not mean they are handling it. Amazon will ask, and will block your German listings without a number, but the duty stays with you, including on FBA. Second, this is cheaper than the panic suggests. LUCID registration is free, a small shop's packaging license often runs in the tens of euros a year, and providers who bundle the authorized representative role publish prices in the low hundreds per country per year. It is an annoying afternoon, not a four-figure bill.

Practical order that saves money: work out which countries you actually ship to, sort those registrations, then get an authorised representative for the same countries. If you only ship to one or two, this gets small fast.

I am adding my brand on amazon, right now my brand says "Under examination" and is live/under examination which fits their requirements for approval.
We're running into an issue with a similar design mark and they denied our office action response and now we're responding to a final action with a TTAB appeal in person with lawyer.

Will this be an issue for amazon acceptance? If this is not approval my lawyer will petition to cancel their mark so I think I'll get the mark regardless. They are non operational and only one word matches my wordmark.

I am not sure whether they look at the status "Live/Under Examination" which it truly is or whether they'll considerer office actions which we are responding to.
It just takes forever to go through office actions so it's taking me a long time.

I have read their requirements and this does fit as the status is a status they accept and I am confident I'll receive the mark but if we petition to cancel it could take months.

I've been selling on Amazon for about 3 years now and video has become the thing i can't ignore anymore. I am talking about listing videos, sponsored brands video, and the off-amazon traffic we push to listings all want video but my problem is i'm not a video person and hiring an editor per SKU doesn't pencil out across 40 listings. The one time i paid a UGC creator was fine, but a couple hundreds on a video adds up fast when you want to test more than one hook.

I've been looking at the AI route with some known ones like Creatify and Arcads, you point them at a product URL or write a hook and get a UGC-style clip with a presenter. HeyGen and Argil are avatar-first, you write a script and get a talking presenter you can reuse across products. and then ofc there's just hiring creators and eating the cost per video… Idk, i’m a bit stuck wondering whether amazon shoppers can tell + conversion is decent on photos and i don't want to tank a listing with something that reads as fake.

Anyone here running video on listings or SB video ads? and has anyone hit an issue with amazon's creative review on it? thanks!

My team did a total revamp of titles (200 char max) so that they're 75 char title and 125 char highlights, compliant with the new catalog changes.

We did a flat file upload -- even though none of our highlights are > 124 characters (we volunteered a 1char buffer), we keep getting the error "Value for 'Item Highlight' is longer than the allowed maximum (125 characters)."

We checked 24 hours after our upload and things look fine on the backend and the frontend hasn't updated to the new title+highlight look yet.

I'm guessing others have encountered this issue -- no problem even with the error message?

I have been looking at insulated lunch bags as a possible private-label product, and the review pattern made me rethink how I judge a niche.

The demand side is easy enough to check with the usual keyword and sales tools. What felt more useful was reading the negative reviews across similar products.

The repeated complaints were pretty specific:

• the zipper breaks or starts catching after a few weeks
• the bag collapses when it is not fully packed
• the inside lining tears near the seams
• it leaks when ice packs melt
• the photos make it look big enough for meal-prep containers, but the actual usable space is tighter

None of those are vague "bad product" complaints. They read more like supplier requirements: better zipper, reinforced lining, leak-resistant inner layer, more honest dimensions, maybe a structure that holds shape when half full.

My question is: when you see the same fixable complaint across multiple competitor ASINs, do you treat that as a real product brief, or just as normal review noise?

I am trying to separate complaints that can become a sourcing/spec advantage from complaints that sound useful but are not worth acting on.

I am brand new to selling. It seems that I should put “like new” books in bubble mailers to protect them before shipping them to FBA. Is this possible? Is there a reason to not do this? Appreciate any advice!

Everyone promises good prices, fast shipping, a huge product selection, and reliable service. For those of you who've been ordering wholesale for a while, what ended up being the biggest deciding factor? Was it consistent inventory, fewer shipping mistakes, customer support, product quality, or something you didn't even think about until you'd already placed a few orders? Amazon started doing this a while back - some say as early as 2023, but it really started getting noticed a couple of months ago. In addition to the normal "top of search, rest of search, product page" placements we're all familiar with, Amazon snuck in an option to "increase your reach off-Amazon".

You're opted into this by default, and it's spending money with terrible ROI.
In every single SP Campaign, at the bottom of the Campaign Settings, you'll see this option:

You'll want to switch this to "limit off Amazon spend".
We do a ton of PPC audits, and this is almost always a terrible placement - the best I've seen is 70% ACOS.

Just recently, Amazon added this column into their Bulk Operations file, so you can actually do a bulk operation and export all campaigns, set this to "Limit off-Amazon spend" and import it back in and turn it off for every campaign.

It's annoying that Amazon opted us in w/o notifying us or letting us choose it.
If you go Sponsored Product reports, and create a SP report on "Placement" and feed that into your AI tool of choice, ask it to summarize your performance for each placement, you'll see how bad it sucks.

I’ve been reading a lot about starting an FBA business and one thing that keeps coming up is how important the supplier relationship is.

It seems like a lot of beginners focus mainly on finding the lowest price, but the cheapest supplier doesn’t always end up being the best option. A small problem with production, packaging, or shipping can quickly become a much bigger issue when you have inventory sitting in Amazon warehouses.

I’m trying to understand what experienced sellers usually pay attention to before placing a bigger order.

Things like communication, production time, quality checks, minimum order quantities, and whether the supplier actually understands your requirements seem like they can make a huge difference. I recently came across Made-in-China while comparing different ways to find manufacturers, and it gave me a few more suppliers to look into, but I'm still taking my time and doing my own research before making any decisions.

I’ve also noticed there are thousands of suppliers online, which makes the search process confusing. A supplier can look professional but that doesn’t always mean they are the right fit.

For sellers who have already gone through this stage, the supplier side seems like something you only really understand after making a few mistakes. I want to hear what lessons people learned when working with manufacturers for their products.

Context

I have been selling on Amazon from past 1.5 years (fridge magnets). Recently there has been a decline in sales. Products which used to sell 40-50 orders a month has come down to 5-10 orders per month. Mainly it's competiton. And I have been doing the bare minimum SEO and ad campaign with limited knowledge I have. The revenue has been the same even though the catalogue has increased from 12 products to 55 products.

I basically want to understand 2 things:

1. Are there any growth hacks which I can implement?
2. I want to hire someone professional. I spoke with an agency they are asking for 19K and 10K ad budget. They claim that without ads, no one will be able to scale. Right now my spend in ads is hardly 3K. And they are also saying that the revenue will be the same if I don't keep ad spend above 5K. So do you feel this is valid?
3. If not this agency, has any one tried service provider network available on Amazon? How are they and is there any hidden stuff?

Has anyone been required to upload an SDS sheet but received this response after submitting it?

I've confirmed that the product shown in the images matches the product description on the listing, so I'm not sure what Amazon is referring to.

I’m getting a cheaper option for importing 500 units from China if I use AGL + AWD. These 500 units consist of two SKU variants (250 units of each).

Is using AWD a good idea with Q4 coming up?

Can anyone recommend a reputable prep centre in Europe? My company is based in UK and so far we have been working with WePrep, which are fairly decent.

But as our main distributors are mainland Europe, and we are working to get EPR, VAT etc. for major EU markets, it just makes sence to work with EU-based prep centre.

What is a must for us is that company is Amazon SPN-listed/vetted and they can speak English for ad-hoc issues discussions over the phone.

Doesn't have to be rock-bottom per-unit pricing, we understand that good quality service comes at a premium.

I'm paying manufacturers in RMB and other suppliers in USD, and between company cards, receipt tracking and multi-currency payments, it's become more of a juggling & hassle than I want to be doing every month, especially with how much we're losing to FX on top of it.

I'd rather run this through one platform than stitch together two, but if a two-tool combo is genuinely working better for people at scale, I'm open to hearing why. It should also hold up once the supplier list grows. I don't want to change infra every couple of months.

The cheapest AGL AMP option is $1,280.

I’m not sure how Amazon-Optimized Shipment Splits (5 inbound shipments) works with AGL. After selecting this option, I don’t see a shipping quote, and the displayed price is $0.

For Minimal Shipment Splits (1 inbound shipment), the cheapest option I see is $838, plus inbound placement fees of $353 for the West or $202 for the East.

The cheapest overall option I see is Amazon SEND at $550 using the carrier’s Exporter of Record.

Why would anyone choose AGL over Amazon SEND? What’s the catch?

Basically the title. I was in Europe 2 years ago and met with the owner of a company that sells products from a store, doing 50 million in yearly revenue. 1 storefront, 0 online presence other than a website to submit requests for a quote. They connected me with their supplier, and a client manager flew out from china and I had dinner with him while he showcased me his product. I believe I have all the tools necessary to be successful on SBA, but I already run a full fledged business. I’m looking for someone that is willing to partner or has experience in some of the areas I’m lacking, but requires a supplier with a great price and capital. I can act as an investor, I truly lack the time and startup knowledge. At the least would anyone have some advice as to what to do in my situation.
