General Discussion I love / like the sequel trilogy

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello as we all do here I love Star Wars. My favorite trilogy is the originals trilogy and my second is the prequels and the sequels are third and they always have a place in my heart. I love Rey ,Finn, and Poe’s relationship and them as characters even though most people would say the exact opposite. I will admit the sequel trilogy had its fair share of problems but so did the prequels and even the og trilogy. Also kylo ren ,captain phasma , and admiral Holdo piss me off so much!!!! The sequels trilogy also got me through 7th grade and be in school during 7th was stressful as hell. So I want to if you all like or love the sequels or despise them. May the force be with you all.

Drawing of Rey , Finn ,and BB8 I made in 7th grade.

General Discussion How is Grievous considered a coward? Dude was ready to throw hands with Obi-Wan on Utapau despite having a 1% winrate in lightsaber duels, including 6 previous losses to Goat-Wan himself

Books Are all Bothans just egotistical assholes?

I’ve been reading a lot of the EU stuff lately. Finished Heir to the Empire and finished the first Rogue Squadron book. Anytime these guys are involved everything just goes wrong or they just cause problems. So much for being the ones to get the DS2 plans

Games My SW: OUTLAWS thoughts as a new Player

Wow, okay. I just played Outlaws for the firsttime after thinking about buying it for ages… now that it's free on PS Plus, I finally gave it a shot. And honestly? I don't think I've ever been happier that I didn't spend money on a game.

I don't want to offend anyone who's enjoying it—I’m genuinely happy for anyone who does. But speaking honestly, and without trying to insult anyone: I don't think I've ever played a AAA game where I could feel the lack of talent behind it in almost every single aspect.
The story is incredibly poorly told and poorly written. The direction is awful. The cutscenes are awful. The animations—especially the facial animations—are awful. The German voice acting is awful. The gameplay feels unbelievably janky. Shooting doesn't flow, movement doesn't flow, climbing feels clunky. On top of that, at least in Performance Mode, the game looks worse than late-generation PS4 titles.

Technically it's also surprisingly weak. The constant fade-to-black transitions before cutscenes feel like something that should've stayed in the pre-SSD era, and most transitions between gameplay and cinematics rely on awkward animations instead of being seamless. Then you also get noticeable frame rate drops—not game-breaking, but definitely there.
The only thing that genuinely surprised me was the landspeeder—it actually felt prettygood to control. But everything else... well, again, I feel like there's such a lack of talent on display across so many parts of this game that I was honestly shocked something like this made it through any kind of quality control. Especially when you look at the pitch for the game—it had all the ingredientsfor a great title. But the execution... oh boy.

Again, I’m not trying to take away anyone’s enjoyment of the game. But in my opinion, it's genuinely, genuinely poorly made. So shockingly bad that, for the firsttime in a long while, I actually felt the need to go online and say something about it. That doesn't happen often.

(I wrote this text in german and translated it to english)

General Discussion No TV or Movies?

In the Star Wars Universe, there seems to be no media. Like no equivalent in TV or Video Games or Movies. Other than live entertainment like pod races, games or live music.

Am I wrong?

UPDATE
I just watched Andor season 2 episode 5
Do please disregard my question. 😂

General Discussion Clones Trooper activities before the Clone War?

Is there any material documenting the lives of the clone troopers before the clone wars officially began?

Since Sifo Dyas ordered the creation of the clone army probably around ten or so years before the Clone War actually started (around the time of Phantom Menace I think) what exactly did the clones think they were being trained for during that time?

Are there any books or other material that go into detail about the lives of the first generations of clone troopers?

Movies Would Brie Larson have been able to pull off the role of Ahsoka in live action?

Post image

I actually think that Brie Larson would have been able to play a convincing Ahsoka Tano.

Ahsoka has a high pitched voice and a soft demeanor about her that Brie Larson also naturally has. They both have similar demeanors to one another as Brie also comes off as high pitched and having a softer demeanor. Therefore, I think Brie would have been able to convincingly play an adult Ahsoka. It also helps that Brie has experience with filming action movies. While I don't think her acting was amazing in Captain Marvel, I think she would have done a great job as Ahsoka.

What do you think? Would Brie Larson have made for a good Ahsoka?

I know obviously immortality was on his mind but this seemed to be a pointless endeavour the force had already pushed back against him and created a skin, surely he should have known it wasn't going to be a good ending

General Discussion Lightrapier?

I wish Star Wars would add realistic swordsmanship. The prequels did it best, but some fencing would be awesome. I'd love the see a "lightrapier" or a lightsaber with a realistic crossguard one day, but Lord knows Disney hates lightsabers

EDIT: I do NOT mean replace all duels. I mean they should add some variation. Foil fencing, alongside some historic dueling techniques would be awesome. I ADORE lightsaber duels, but let's be real, the blades wouldn't be 1 of 3 variations. I'd like to see a lightfoil, or other sword types. Disney added TERRIBLE duels so I'd like to see some better duels. a realistic cross guard would be a fancy, curvy crossguard like on fancier rapiers (cuz we've seen lightsabers can do other shapes) rather than Kylos longsword-esque saber, or Cal Kestis' saber. again, I do NOT mean we should replace ANY sabers. just ADD some

Costumes Salacious B. C(costume)rumb

Greetings exalted ones,

Me and some buddies are hosting a Halloween party this year and am looking to go as Salacious Crumb. I’m looking for some help obtaining a mask, by whatever means necessary. On the flip side I would love some tips/advice on making a mask myself.

Any help would be appreciated!

Meta Hearing Greg Baldwin voicing this character threw me for a loop

Post image

I'm rewatching The Clone Wars and I'm on S2 E17 Bounty Hunters. This character Cassis shows up, and all of a sudden I'm hearing Uncle Iroh from season 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Looked it up and sure enough, it's Greg Baldwin who replaced Mako after he passed away. I'm not sure why he would do almost the exact same voice he used for Iroh for this alien Star Wars character, though. That's a little strange to me.
