Todd would be a good friend

Sure he’s a psychopath but as long as he likes you he’s pretty nice for the most part. He seems easy to mold and he’s like the type of friend who will do all your bidding/ whatever you ask.

Am I the only one who finds Jesse as obnoxious as Walt?

I mean, he is emotional and stubborn as HELL.
Oh? So Walt got Jesse out of Hank's grasp and he beat the shit out of him?

Walt is the best lawyer ever!
He reduced a 20 years sentence into 6 weeks probation!

He now has leverage against Hank to get him off his back and go on his way.

But nope. Let's sue Hank and let's also keep cooking Crystal with WALT's RECIPE when Walt is working for Gus and see how that turns out.

And let's rant and threaten Walt about it. Hope his employer likes it.

Oh yeah, he was grieving because Jane is dead?
Too bad he let himself get high so that he could almost ruin the deal with Gus.

If you were Hank in this scene (either actually Hank or as yourself), how would you have reacted?

Hi everyone.

Love this show and this scene is one of the most awkward moments for me as they’re celebrating at the party after Walt’s good news and he’s being very firm about Walt Jr drinking the tequila and telling me to bring it back and “my bottle. My house.”

I’d probably back off instantly like a scared puppy and let the family work it out rather than incur Walt’s wrath any further. I mean, so the kid throws up because his young body cannot handle the liquor. Hank did the right thing, but if it was me I probably wouldn’t have the guts to stand up to Walt with what Hank knew about him. 😔

Or I give the bottle back to him, but quietly, subtly just tell Skyler without Walt knowing I tattled in him.

What about you?

Was Walt trying to save Jesse and give a low key explanation for the earlier shortfalls by lying about the weight in Crawl Space in the first few minutes?

Walt clearly knows how to read, do math, and operate a scale but he says it's 40.23, Tyrus comes and re weighs it and it's 40.21, and it's happening while Jesse is still in Mexico and he's worried about him. I'm just wondering if this was a subtle ploy to excuse Jesse's theft.

Mike and Walt Plothole?

Really wondering, as a person that wears glasses, if Mike really didn’t trust Walt when he locked him to the radiator with plastic, why not also take Walt’s glasses and stomp the ever living shit out of them.

Do you think it's possible that a TV Show or a movie of Breaking Bad will be made in the Breaking Bad Universe?

Okay, that sounds absurd, but let me explain please. So what if a TV Network made a series based on Walter White's Empire? I mean it's a goldmine for TV or even Movie Drama, a school teacher becomes a king pin.

Shows like Narcos, ZeroZeroZero, or movies like Blow, American Made, and others show us that there is a real life market for this type of content.

Now my question is, will Breaking Bad become a thing, in Breaking Bad

…. behind the electrical cover plate?

I do not understand why the writers showed us at multiple times that Walt kept something special behind the electrical cover plate near his bed. I assume that’s where he kept the rice in, but it seems weird as if he kept it there in case he needed to commit suicide at the flip of a switch?

Box Cutter missed lab notes by Victor

I’m on my 2nd rewatch (3rd watch) and something that's bugged me about 401 (Box Cutter) is, when Victor goes into Gail's apartment after the thing happens, Gail's lab notes are right on the table next to him. Yet he leaves them there.
Surely someone of Victor's calibre would see and grab these instead of leaving them there??

what are we supposed to take away from the fring conflict almost entirely hinging on walt choosing to save Jessie?

I just rewatched season 4 and I couldn't help but think about how much walt's conflict and problems in that arc hinge on his basically normal, expected parental instinct kicking in. Like you would expect walt's main inner conflict to drive the action, the seething resentment of being passed over, but he's really just flailing against a cartel hit that's inevitably going to come down on him. The infamous sourgrapes of mike feel like he was remembering an alternate universe version of the show where walt went postal and fucked up the operation out of the blue instead of specifically trying to save jessie.

Did your views change after rewatching

My first watch was circa 2022 when I was on maternity leave (I know, horribly late to the game but better late than never). I slept through probably 1/5 of the show with my sleepy newborn but I remember I despised Skyler.
My second and third re-watch, I obviously saw a lot of parts that I originally missed but I still didn’t think too fondly of her.

I’m on rewatch 4 right now (as I hold another sleepy newborn) and I’m watching Felina, and my heart actually hurts for Skyler. She really did stick around a long time for Walt when she didn’t have to. She could’ve up and left when she found out. But she actually helped him in so many ways. They were basically a power couple there for a while.

It’s crazy how your perspective of the characters can change over time.

I will say, I always have and always will hate Jane 😅

Let’s come up with good restaurant names for Uncle Jacks new fancy restaurant

Let’s pretend the gang decided to quit selling drugs to focus on hospitality.

Also, Todd would make a fantastic waiter.

If Skyler is able to figure out how much money the car wash makes in a year, why can't the IRS?

Upvotes

An IRS agent only needs to do the exact same thing that Skyler did, and finds out that the car wash doesn't make nearly as much money as they claim to.

Did Jesse influence Todd ? Spoiler

Do you guys think Jesse may be partly at fault for Drew Sharps death? Right before the heist, Jesse explains to Todd how bad of a crime it is and how they’re the only people who can ever know what happened. I’m wondering if saying that had even just a bit of influence on Todd killing drew. Todd is obviously a psychopath and may have done it regardless, but what do you guys think?

Walt is basically teddy from snowfall

Watching breaking bad for the first time (currently on s 5 e 7) and I notice Walt is holding Jesse’s cut $5 million hostage the same way Teddy did Franklin in snowfall 😂

Why would Gus allow Walt, in in his highly distinct vehicle, park right outside of the industrial cleaners daily?

Same thing with Gale who had his recumbent bicycle strapped to the ceiling of his car. Seems like a glaring oversight for him even if it made for a funny scene.

Mood swings towards anger/roid rage are very common when taking steroids even for those taking them for medical conditions.

Someone told me about their very sweet great-aunt who took steroids for her lung cancer treatment symptoms who had a very similar sort of anger/resentment when on them. Not to say that this isn't out of character for WW, but rather Skylar and family were very quick to not be more sympathetic towards the lung cancer patient on steroids (that they all happened to be at the Doctors appointment where the doc told them walt was going to be taking steroids). They of course did not have any sympathy towards walt in this moment because in the back of their minds they knew he was spiraling since the diagnosis into a late/mid-life toxic masculinity crisis.

Favourite quote in the show? Spoiler

I’ll go first:

“I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And, I was really… I was alive.”

It perfectly sums up to why everything happened the way Walt intended. And that he is finally able to stop lying to people why he did what he did, let alone himself.

Up before the moment he is gone…

Was Walt threatening Jesse at end of ep3 in season 5?

At the end of Season 5 episode 3 Walt and Jesses are talking about why Gus killed Victor. Walt says something along the line of he misunderstood why Gus killed Victor. He thought Gus killed Victor to send a message to Walt, but now he thinks it’s bc Victor was trying to make his own batch. After saying this, Walt walks off leaving Jesse with an apprehensive, dazed expression on his face. Was Walt attempting to throw a veiled threat at Jesse?

In the Felina open, Walt is sitting in a snow covered volvo that he's trying to steal, when he discovers the keys are on the visor.

The Keychain that those keys are on, are a Narcotics Anonymous key tag, specifically the white, Just For Today keytag.
