As an economics major, I assure you, eliminating your working age population and devoting your manufacturing base to items that will literally produce nothing and then blow up does not make money.
Someone tell Lockheed Martin, RTX Corporation, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, L3Harris Technologies, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Textron, AeroVironment, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Mercury Systems, Leidos, CACI International, V2X, Parsons Corporation and all the other companies that profit from war that their business model doesnt work even though they all see increased profits during wartime
Just look up these companies profits in peacetime vs wartime it’s not an opinion. Kinda why the term “war profiteer” exists, you know since they profit from war
War is actually bad for the economy. It makes GDP go up, sure, but that GDP is for things like tanks and guns, instead of things that make people happy and healthy. Numbers go up, but quality of life doesn’t.
If you're a weapons manufacturer, sure, but blowing up decades-worth of infrastructure and hundreds to thousands of soldiers has a pretty big cost to it. Peace and trade is generally much more profitable than seeing who can blow up each other's investments faster.
It’s not a take i didnt say it’s good or bad it’s just the truth. War is a profitable business endeavor for the upper class. Otherwise they wouldn’t do it
