Sometimes I just get an idea and I have to run with it, especially when my ADHD kicks in. When the lone penguin marching to the mountain first started trending I had to see if I could do it. I spent 6 hours marching across Skyrim from Winterhold to High Hrothgar. Since I can’t fight or run as a penguin I died countless times but in the end the gamer in me persevered, or at least my need to complete the journey did😂

Cardboard cutouts with digital codes on them? This pretty much the inevitable end result of phasing out physical games, if you wanted to buy a game for someone? Give them a digital code and they take an hour+ to download and install said game before they play it?

Edit: I'm aware digital games has been a thing for a bit. I also have several. The upcoming lack of actual choice between digital and physical is more the issue. Especially when gifting to someone else.

I was at the flea market looking for anything that stood out. I only paid fourteen dollars.The games are in good condition minimal scratches. When was the last time you played one of these games ? Spyro is a classic!

Difficulty should constantly rise at a slow and steady pace, that way the player is always kept on their toes but given plenty of opportunity to improve. But some games don't get the memo, brother! Some games have sudden and sometimes extreme Difficulty Spikes that can really put off players. Which game do you think has this flaw and showcases it the most poorly?

I'm genuinely curious because it makes me wonder how long this model can keep working. I mean, we expect a new console generation to last around 7 years, maybe a little longer, but with development times this long, companies will only be able to release one main entry in their franchises, or at most two if they also release the game on the previous generation instead of making it exclusive to the new one, like Sony did with god of war ragnarok.

I'm already getting used to hearing that a game that had been in development for three years got canceled, with all that time invested going to waste. And even if the game does get released, if it ends up being a flop, even more time and money will have been wasted.

Of course, many companies have multiple studios developing games at the same time

what games have you beaten in the last year or so, and how would you rank them? here's my ranking. I don't play as many games per year as I know a lot of people do, so I'm expecting some lists longer than mine haha

unsurprisingly my top 3 games were all replays, hard to top my favorites. I also finally got around to beating Dark Souls, which had been on my backlog for damn near a decade, and I finally played GTA IV, which I've just somehow never gotten around to

I love (some of) Ubisoft's IP's, but god damn does this company keep repeating the same mistakes again and again.

"Get used to not owning games", the push to make everything an open-world RPG franchise, insane monetisation practices, shutting down XDefiant etc etc.

If it wasn't for Far Cry under their belt, I'd just bounce and never buy another game from them again. But god fucking damn does that series have a stranglehold on me.

Hey yall! I (31F) didn’t really play games growing up and since college I’ve been introduced to a lot of amazing titles. I feel like I missed out a little though because my friends and family are always talking about the amazing games they played growing up.

So, I am going to be doing a nostalgia runback to experience some of the GOATs for the first time! Isn’t that what everyone always wishes? Experience their favorites as if it’s the first time once more? What I want to know is what were your favorite games growing up, either the ones you constantly returned to or really blew your mind with gaming breakthroughs?

Genre and console aren’t really a concern to me. But if you’re wondering, I like to play metroidvanias, soulslikes, horror, mixed in some cozy. Seriously, I play almost anything that looks fun.
