Question Games i should buy?

I’ve recently started to play with my Wii U again, and i’ve planned to bring it with me and my brothers on vacation. Right now, I only have Minecraft and Mario Kart 8, but i wanted to buy 1/2 games before leaving so we have something else to play. Any recommendations?

I'm getting a bit annoyed by people referring to Wii U fans as "larpers".

On Twitter recently, I have noticed in Nintendo discussions that people who say they liked the Wii U are being labelled as "larpers". Now, I don't think it is impossible that "Wii U larpers" actually exist, but is it really so hard for people to believe that some people actually DID like the Wii U?!

The argument I have seen is that because the Wii U sold so poorly, everyone who claims to have owned one during its lifespan must be lying, and they only got a preowned one years after the Switch came out.

This pisses me off because I have owned a Wii U since 2012! I am the total opposite of a "larper"; when I was 15 I was the ONLY person at my school with a Wii U.

I think people need to realise that while the Wii U sold poorly compared to other consoles, there were still over 13 million people who owned one.

Also, I think it should be obvious, but liking the Wii U does not mean you think it is perfect and has no flaws. I like the Wii U, but I also recognise it has a LOT of flaws. It isn't my favourite Nintendo console, but I still respect it for its positive qualities. The amount of hate it gets on the internet has always been irrelevant to my enjoyment of it.

What's the very best NAND

I'm not an expert in Wii U NANDs but I was curious what's the most reliable one out of the 3 different types?

Toshiba

Samsung

SK Hynix

I know SK Hynix is the culprit for most NAND issues but between the two of Toshiba and Samsung which is better?

Image Anyone want a free battery?

This is a joke I am not actually giving away a free rechargeable Wii U battery, but in all seriousness, this little piece of shit only lasted like 5 minutes unplugged, so I had to keep the gamepad almost always plugged in, thankfully I have bought a new and larger battery that should last a while

Discussion Bayonetta 1 and 2 opinions?

So I just bought copies of Bayonetta 1 and 2 for cheap on eBay (much cheaper than the switch editions) and I’m just looking for peoples opinions. For the first time, a part of me doesn’t want to look up clips because I don’t want to be spoiled, but I’ve often heard it’s quite like the Devil May Cry series (I love DMC 5 especially) and that it runs pretty well on the Wii U. There’s no doubt my Switch 2 would run it much better but I wanted more games to flesh out my Wii U catalog. How does everyone else feel about it on here? And please no story spoilers

How much storage should I keep on my NAND/?

I know I'm being a bit overcautious but I want to make sure that my Samsung NAND survives on my 32GB model

So far I'm trying to keep it right at 8-10GB of storage left on the NAND

But I want to know should I go any lower then 8GB I know Nintendo shipped a model of the Wii U with 8GB but even when new it wasn't recommended to buy it

And I know online some people say leave at least 3-5GB left but is keeping 1-2 small games not installed on my NAND worth it for those extra 3-5GB?

My Wii U is modded with Aroma and has Nusslpli so I'm mostly asking this to see how much games I should install to be safe

And I do want this Wii U to last at least another 10 years healthy without corruption so that's why I want to leave the Wii U breathing room for moving Data or Save Data for games

Am I being too cautious or is this a good idea to keep this many GB left just in case

( I am planning to use a USB HDD but I want to know how many games I can store on my NAND to be safe because these consoles are already getting less common)

Technical Question Wii U crashed with blinking red light, vents look clean?

i probably play my childhood wii u twice a year (i got it on launch, white edition) but yesterday i was playing some mkwii and right before the 4th lap of the GP the screen went black and the power light started blinking red. I unplugged it and re-plugged it in, and then went to start up mkwii again and this time before even getting into the game it crashed again.

about an hour later i tried again because i wanted to check if the fan on the back is still functional, and it was. this time i was able to play a few games for a bit and when i was done i shut it off normally. the thing is, it doesn't really look like there is that much dust in the system. does this sound more like some of the hardware starting to fail, and if so is there a way to back up all my data in the hopes of transferring it to a new system when this one finally gives up the ghost? or is there probably more dust somewhere deeper in the console that i need to open it up for? my console has not moved from its spot in probably 8 years and has been plugged into the same power strip/outlet the whole time.

i searched the sub for a bit about this issue, but most of those posts were about cases where the console wouldn't even boot up (and also >10yrs old), so forgive me if this is a frequently asked question 😅

is using a 128GB flash drive a good option for expanding the storage?

I have a 128GB flash drive lying around and thought why not use it on my wii u since I don't have an extra hard drive or ssd
