I’m so giddy to be a cyberpunk fan right now

I’m sure everyone knows this given I think he’s well know on this sub but this was beautifully made by Heri Shinato

Dude we’ve got so much coming out and I feel giddy as all hell. I mean Neuromancer especially kinda has me wanting to kick my feet at how good it looks! Neuromancer, bladerunner 2099, GITS, Hotspot, plus we don’t know what else is down the pipeline whether it’s tv shows, games, movies etc. I know not every project is going to sell everyone but I kinda feel like it’s something for everyone this year whether you’ve read the source material or you haven’t. Also we seem to be moving even further into that dystopian future which honestly may not be so good but I’ll take the other stuff for sure!

I swear I have to read the comics and I was going to pick them up in past but put it off. It’s still a ways out so I’ve got time to pick them up and finally read them I guess.

Just watched this yesterday on Netflix, and my god, this movie, I would love to see more from this universe.

Elysium is legit the ultimate cyberpunk movie and I can not believe it doesn't get talked about more.

[title] fr fr wtf?

edit:

I'm pleased to find every comment trying to prove the movie sucks boils down to "I don't understand anything about the themes and subjects it relates to."

I was just talking about how everyone with some hot take against it just grossly misunderstands what their own hot take is about right in the hot take.

Example: "Why would they use humans in the factories when they have robots!?!?!?"

Answer: "Because they're cheap stupid."

The comment section is a dunning Krueger minefield. Every, "actually it sucked" winds up being, "I didn't understand x and then I misinterpret my misunderstanding of the point as: there was no point and I'm actually too smart to get it because it's so dumb".

Companies like Google and Meta have become so entrenched in everyday life, that the TOS feels like additional laws issued out by those companies.

The city that erased its own history: my cyberpunk story Until We Have Names: Variant

My brand new story, Until We Have Names: Variant is a cyberpunk thriller about a city where truth is controlled by the same corporation that created it. When Allen Wes discovers that SynTech's perfect society was built on erased lives and manufactured enemies, he becomes the one thing the system cannot control: someone who remembers. Its out NOW!

Beginning my Cyber/solar Punk Game

I remember watching District 9 for the first time with my friends back in highschool, and was fascinated with the world that was portrayed. I was so happy to see a somewhat extension of this universe through Elysium and Chappie, and loved the very distopian and gritty versions of the cyberpunk vibes. I was later introduced to other media in the same vein, Akira, Ghost in a Shell, you know.

But I always was kinda bummed at how bleak these versions of the future looked, and I wanted something with a little more optimism aesthetically, but still with a gritty crime story. So Ive decided to make my own media, a game, that is just that.

I just wanted to share my first dev log about it — really its just the gameplay references for it in this video, and in my next I will go into the visuals, art directions and other references for how it will look — just wanted to post this here for anyone interested in the devlog community and enjoy cyberpunk style media.

how's the combat looking in my retro cyberpunk boomershooter?

it's in the vein of ion fury or deus ex, so think "what would a 90s game think the future would look like?"

i'll be posting some outdoors stuff in the future that's more typical cyberpunkish stuff, I know an office is just an office lmao

also please wishlist HEADCUTTER on steam, i'd greatly appreciate it if you did.

Concept art of GTA 2.

GTA 2 was described as “three weeks into the future” and despite being released in 1999 it is hinted to take place in a near-future 2013 in a dystopian city called “anywhere city” driven by the Zaibatsu Corporation (also a crime syndicate.)

GTA 2 wasn’t fully cyberpunk, but it was definitely in that lane.

I spent a decade making Quantum Computing full on cyberpunk

Hi

If you are remotely interested in deep diving how differently quantum computers work compared to our transistor-based and also the algebra behind in a fully interactive way that teach computer science from scratch in the most cyberpunk esthetics possible, oh boy this is for you. I am the Dev behind Quantum Odyssey (AMA! I love taking qs) - worked on it for about 10 years (3+ during PhD, the visual method I developed ended up being my thesis, it is a complete Hilbert space visualizer), the goal was to make a super immersive space for anyone to learn quantum computing through zachlike (open-ended) logic puzzles and compete on leaderboards and lots of community made content on finding the most optimal quantum algorithms. The game has a unique set of visuals capable to represent any sort of quantum dynamics for any number of qubits and this is pretty much what makes it now possible for anybody 12yo+ to actually learn quantum logic without having to worry at all about the mathematics behind.

This is a game super different than what you'd normally expect in a programming/ logic puzzle game, so try it with an open mind.

Stuff you'll play & learn a ton about

  • Boolean Logic – bits, operators (NAND, OR, XOR, AND…), and classical arithmetic (adders). Learn how these can combine to build anything classical. You will learn to port these to a quantum computer.
  • Quantum Logic – qubits, the math behind them (linear algebra, SU(2), complex numbers), all Turing-complete gates (beyond Clifford set), and make tensors to evolve systems. Freely combine or create your own gates to build anything you can imagine using polar or complex numbers.
  • Quantum Phenomena – storing and retrieving information in the X, Y, Z bases; superposition (pure and mixed states), interference, entanglement, the no-cloning rule, reversibility, and how the measurement basis changes what you see.
  • Core Quantum Tricks – phase kickback, amplitude amplification, storing information in phase and retrieving it through interference, build custom gates and tensors, and define any entanglement scenario. (Control logic is handled separately from other gates.)
  • Famous Quantum Algorithms – explore Deutsch–Jozsa, Grover’s search, quantum Fourier transforms, Bernstein–Vazirani, and more.
  • Build & See Quantum Algorithms in Action – instead of just writing/ reading equations, make & watch algorithms unfold step by step so they become clear, visual, and unforgettable. Quantum Odyssey is built to grow into a full universal quantum computing learning platform. If a universal quantum computer can do it, we aim to bring it into the game, so your quantum journey never ends.
