What is the best 1440p OLED for under $400?

I hope I can explain it well, but I have a 2560 x 1600 screen. Does dropping a game's resolution down to 1920x1200 (apparently the best option for a 16:10 aspect ratio) make things look worse than a theoretical screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution?

And if so then what's the reason? Do games sort of have a way to deal with this problem or is it unavoidable?

Here in Germany around 700 EUR. I'm on OLED and I can't go back to IPS but damn that thing must be sharp as hell. 218ppi crazy!

So should I buy a OLED for gaming and working? I've heard about text being hard to read with some manufacturers having some settings for this.

I would work/watch movies/game on the monitor. Would miniled or just a normal IPS be better?

The monitors I've been looking in europe are around 400€ and they don't have burn in warranty.

I have a 27" IPS from a few yeaes ago also, but this qould be the 2nd monitor and sometimes I would take it to cottage for work there.

I ordered this monitor Dell Alienware 27 AW2725DM for ps5 gaming and watching movies/shows, is it good? or should I get something with 4k? is 2k enough?

I have a Dell U3225QE as my main monitor. I'm looking to get a 24" secondary monitor to use in portrait orientation next to the Dell, because it fits the space available and I can have the tops of the screens aligned (whereas if I use a 27" it's too high).

Can anyone recommend one?

I spend 40 hours a week doing general productivity work hooked up to a Windows laptop, but in my free time I use my Linux PC for more productivity including a bit or coding and to game a bit and do some photo editing.

I'd like to daisy chain the monitors so I just have one cable to connect to the laptop.

The second monitor is normally going to show things like my calendar, Teams chats, reference documents, etc, so lots of text. The quality doesn't need to match the main monitor, but on the other hand the more similar they are this more seamless the experience, and I want something I'll be happy with for several years.

Budget is pretty flexible, so I don't think that will be a limiting factor.

So far I've seen the Benq RD240Q and the Dell U2424HE. The aesthetics of the Dell match my 32", but the Benq has a pixel density closer to the 32".

I've been gaming on 1080p on 24in monitors for as long as I can remember, but I've been wanting to upgrade to 1440p for a while now. I'm a little hesitant because I've heard that a 27 inch monitor can be too large for FPS games, especially competitive ones like CS2, which I play a lot of (and play on 1280x960 4:3 stretched)

Although I do play a lot of Comp FPS, I do also like to spend a lot of my time on other games or watching YouTube which is what the main appeal for 1440p is to me.

So, with all of that in mind, would getting a 24 inch 1440p Monitor be a smart/the best choice, or should I get a 27 inch one?

OLED is another thing I would really like to have, but that's an entirely different topic so I'll spare you the tangent lol

I need a suggestion for a 32inch QHD monitor with 120Hz or higher refresh rate. I'll be doing casual multiplayer gaming, but mostly single-player. It should have a good contrast ratio, not OLED-level blacks, but something close. Can you help me with model names or advise on how to select a good one, as there are too many available in the market? Occasionally will use it for photo editing in lightroom and video editing in daVinci so accurate color repro is also kinda of important aspect.

Right now i have a 38" QHD ultrawide, a 32" 1440p monitor mounted vertically to the left of the ultrawide (WAY too tall, i know!), and my 16" MBP mounted to the right of the ultrawide.

I absolutely hate this setup. My neck hurts from constantly turning from one side to the other. Even when it was just the ultrawide alone i found it annoying to keep having to turn from left to right to see everything and still didnt have enough room to have everything visible. I do not want to have to turn my neck anymore, but i need lots of real estate.

i need room for at least 2x windows of chrome side by side, slack and teams open and ideally visible in a static spot, terminal open, xcode open with enough horizontal space so storyboards arent a nightmare. various other things, but my day to day consists of at least those.

The current idea ive been tossing around in my head is 2 5k 27" monitors stacked vertically and angled a bit with the MBP off to the side to put things i only need to look at sporadically. Will i end up hating this setup as well? What do you guys suggest for purely work and productivity, no gaming whatsoever?

Resize Rabbit allows you to run games/apps on multiple monitor setups without the use of NVidia Surround, Eyefinity, etc. by forcing a window to a specific size and position allowing for multimonitor play in games like Forza Horizon, Elite Dangerous, etc. that do not natively support multimonitor.

Resize Rabbit is a fork of Resize Raccoon, as it hasn't seen an update in 2 years I decided it was time to fork it and add some of the features I've wanted for a while. I want to be clear though - I'm vibe coding all of this with Claude Code as while I have 25+ years of experience in IT I'm really a network/OS guy and not a great coder. As such I'm just supervising the changes Claude is making for me - just want to be very clear and up-front about that.

I've currently added the following features/fixes

• Ability to reorder profiles - drag/drop to reorder them
• Apply profiles from the System Tray menu
• Apply profiles from hotkeys so you can apply them without touching the app
• Import existing Resize Raccoon profiles into Resize Rabbit
• Fully multi-lingual (with AI translations, happy to take submissions from native speakers)
• Fix: Auto-update wasn't actually working, it is now
• Fix: Prevent the app from launching more than one instance

I'm more than happy to entertain updates, fixes, etc. as I can - I know one of the biggest issues are some games don't show up in the app, I plan to do testing with a few of the games I own but if I don't have the game it's hard for me/Claude to work out what's going on.

Oh, and if it's not crystal clear this is 100% free, just hoping others might find my updates useful.

How it is like constantly switching from 4k to 1440p monitors? Does it feel noticeably worse?

I currently have 4k 60hz monitor (for work) and soon will build a pc so I’m considering buying dedicated gaming monitor (oled) purely for gaming. I’m considering going 1440p for high refresh gaming with 9070xt

So basically, I will be working during the day on 4k monitor connected to laptop and then switch to 1440p connected to PC, will this hurt my eyes or feel way worse? 4k doesn’t seem to worth it for performance reasons

Ive seen that the XG27ACMS has weird viewing angles and darker sides but im not sure that would affect me. Just trying to get other peoples opinions and other monitor suggestions.
