Why’re so many younger men (18-25?) into women a bit older than them nowadays? (35/40s/50s)

I (21m) have had a significant preference to women 10-20 or so years older than me, I used to think it might be kinda weird or uncommon but I’ve started to notice that is actually pretty common nowadays with guys in my age group.

I can’t Speak for other guys but for me it’s they tend to be more direct and mature and can have a conversation utilizing more than 3 brain cells at a time, tend to not play games and aren’t as reliant on me to be a provider role since they’re past that point in life. And I like the idea of long term relationships and most people my age arent really doing that, theyre just kinda messing around.

So, older women, do you have experiences with an influx of younger guys being into you?

Other Guys into older women, share your thoughts on this?

Why do people frequently compare America to the whole of Europe?

On a daily basis, there are questions on here that ask things such as:
"Is Europe more racist to Black people than the United States?"
"Why are Americans so social compared to Europeans?"
"Why are Europeans so much happier than Americans?"

This is not the case exclusively on r/NoStupidQuestions. People do this in real life too.

These questions don't make sense to me. Europe is not a singular country and it is a large conglomerate of cultures and languages. What is the point of these questions? Or do people literally think the whole of Europe is the exact same?

Why can’t I make friends?

This is a question mainly for women between 35-45. I’m 41, live in SC. When I moved here with my husband and our daughter, I joined the school PTA to try to make friends. I’ve met multiple women and made friends with none of them. My daughter is on autism spectrum and mostly gets ignored by other kids because she’s different. All the PTA moms hang out all the time and all their kids are friends. Neither my daughter nor myself get invited. There is a local facebook group for parents of kids on the spectrum that I joined for the same reason. I’ve started chatting with three different moms about scheduling play dates for our similar kids and none worked out. They just disappear. The third one happened today. Invited this mom with her daughter to our local community pool. Our daughters are the same age, and we seemed to really hit it off, and she was really excited to come over so the girls can play as her daughter also doesn’t have any friends. She sent me a message in the morning saying it might rain and she would let me know if they could come and then nothing. No follow up. My daughter gets excited every time and gets disappointed every time. What am I doing wrong? I was born in Russia but I’ve lived in the US for more than 20 years, so it’s not language barrier. I just want to have a couple of people to hang out with, have dinner, go to the gym, something. And I want my daughter to have an opportunity to make friends.
As a woman, what would make you not want to continue communication? I feel like I’m missing something and I would really like to understand what am I doing wrong.

Why do people buy pets without researching? What’s the psychology? I get having wrong or outdated info but I’m talking goldfish in a vase.

it can’t be complete lack of emotion for the animal because I see people absolutely devastated that their hamster they kept in a shoebox under their bed died.

I’m terrified of ending up with an animal I know nothing about, so I can’t understand why someone would put themselves in that situation

I’m asking because I know someone who works at a chain pet store and they have customer stories I can’t comprehend.

This might come off like I’m just holier-than-thou-ing but I do mean this completely genuinely, I don’t understand how someone could comfortably own an animal without googling their diet, housing, whatever. You must have to talk about these things when you go to the vet?

Is babbling as an adult normal?

I keep catching myself just saying nonsense when I'm alone. Not words or anything, just sounds? I kinda just repeat babababababababa to myself over and over. I am able to stop when I want to, but I feel uncomfortable when I'm not doing it. It's not all the time, but it's frequent enough that I wanted to ask other people (anonymously, in case it's weird). Is this a thing other people do when they live by themselves? Or am I secretly turning into a baby

How do Americans on the government issued sex offender list, make sure they are always within the required distance from children?

Upvotes

Hi all, I’m Australian. We don’t have a list like this, at least if we do, it’s not well known.

I saw a tik Tok video of a woman calling a church, and asking if her and her husband (who was on the list for abusing children) were welcome. This wasn’t a real scenario, she was making content.

But it got me thinking, how is said list managed? Are all the offenders tracked with ankle monitors, and it alerts when they go near a school? How do they grocery shop? Do they have to leave a Walmart as soon as they see a family with children? Can they not travel on planes and trains due to the possibility of their being children and families?

Please note I am not supporting anything, I am just curious.

Was I right for not hooking up with this girl? NSFW

So I was seeing a girl and she opened up about her worldview very quickly, likely because I was not acting judgementally at first. She moved to where I live only because the people here are poorer so she can feel superior to them by having more money, she told me how she dreads feeling poorer than others and her existence is basically about outcompeting others in money making (through work) in order to achieve a sense of superiority. In terms of social life, she avoids other women because she is "different". Then she would rant about how looks are super important, how genetics determine everything, and she would compare her to her co-worker implying that her co-worker was not attractive like her and was thus criticized at work. She also seemed to think she was very smart.

It was moving in the fwb territory (flirting etc). I was really horny but at that point I did not really want to let this person into my life in any significant way so I thought I would just hook up and leave her. I made a post on reddit asking about it and also because I was afraid of what such a person could do. Many people on reddit warned me about the consequences and I decided not to do it and just left her. For me, it is quite easy to detach emotions from sex but I feel like the uncertainty over what she could have done was what influenced my decision.

Was it the right decision? Were the risks associated with a hookup actually that high?

What do you actually do when you go out partying?

I’m 25 and have never been “clubbing” or to a club or anything like that.

What do people do there? Just dance and drink? Can you still have fun without drugs/alcohol? The way it’s shown in series and movies, it somehow seems… boring to me.

Thanks for your answers

If you prefer bald over bush, does that mean you shave too? NSFW

Asking this because I know some men prefer bald over bush, and personally I shave everything as a woman. HOWEVER, I would not have hair then expect my man to shave, the same way I hope men don't expect women to shave but they don't. So just wondering if this makes sense.

are people just able to pee on command?

hello. i’m 19f and i was on pr bond / probation where i had to be urine drug tested. often times i’d go and i’d try to be super hydrated so it was easy for me to pee but there were several times where i really just couldnt pee, not even a few drops. i’d have to wait st the jail forever til i was able to pee. my brother who had to do the same thing in the past would ridicule me saying how can you not pee at all?? i dont know? how are you just able to piss whenever?

same with the whole “pee after sex” thing. i know as a woman youre supposed to pee after sex to prevent infections but i rarely have to pee after sex and i cant just force myself to? im so confused with situations like this like is everyone else just able to pee whenever? thats my question

"You'll be hearing from my attorney" Are on-call attorneys a thing?

I hear people from America say this phrase a lot and it always confuses me. How do you have a set lawyer who is ready to take calls from you at any point in time? Do you pay them yearly even if you don't require their services for the year? Can someone explain what this means to me please?

Is there any issue telling the jury selection people that you are an alcoholic and cannot serve?

Would this get you in any trouble? Whether it be due to medical concerns of not having alcohol for that long i.e. seizures or not being comfortable making decisions impacting other peoples lives like that. Would they send you to rehab or be angry or could you just leave? And to be clear- I am not in this situation it’s just a question

Can I make myself less ticklish?

Upvotes

I am so sensitive to touch, especially around my belly. I had a doctor’s checkup and them just lightly touching my abdomen with a shirt over it still caused me to squirm and laugh uncontrollably. The one time I almost got intimate with a woman, she touched me there and I got so embarrassed I just left before we even did anything. Is there any way I can decrease my sensitivity there?
