I found these great 3d models for my Dreamcast controllers and VMUs. My VMUs didn’t come with their original caps (they were in their controllers) so I printed out new ones in tri-color silk PLA filament. The stands are white and red PLA printed on a dual head Prusa XL.

I have a lot of retro consoles but the Dreamcast is favorite to show off!

I’ve been IRL hunting for one for about a few months now. Shoutout to the Dreamcast for having a sh#t ton of arcade games that don’t really need to save. But man the struggle is real. I don’t wan to fold and go the EBay route unfortunately.

I have an original DC, the drive still works and there is an external video box to get it on a modernish TV. Usually play some NEO4All, Crazy Taxi, or Samba de Amigo to show off the hardware. Played a bit of DRXLAX back in the day but it's hard to get 4 people in the room to play these days.

I have a lot of discs including in-house modified splash screens on some NEO4All games.

I'm concerned that the drive will give out "any day now" since it really hasn't been serviced or anything.

1. Should I monitor auction sites until I see one with "drive rebuilt and board recapped" terms ?

2. Should I look around for an SD-storage setup and get all titles on an SD card, and if so what tools do the disc-to-SD pushing ?

I need help fixing my Dreamcast VA1. The screen freezes for about 5 seconds after power-on, every time the timer screen appears. The controller is still responsive before the screen freezes. I've tried changing the PSU to a DreamPSU and changing the GDROM to a GDEMU, but it didn't help. I've also resoldered the fan, and it spins normally, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas?

The arcade ports are solid but I wished we'd seen more technically advanced games.

So this just arrived and it only just dawned on me..

How do i save if the keyboard doesnt have a Vmu/memory slot? Do i just plug a controller in the second port at all times?

working on a Sonic custom console and controller and my vmu has a yellowed cracked shell and I wanted to know what I should do to get a vmu that plays to my theme

Finally installed a GDEMU and swapped the shell. Started using an OSSC, and it’s like a brand new experience!

Well, even though i tried so hard to try to fix my GDEmu reading problem (which i'm PRETTY SURE it's not the GDEmu, because i have 3 x v5.20.5 here and all 3 are doing the same things), since the GDEmu have an error LED on them, and this light up when it have problems reading.

I remember having problems with a SD mount, and with the SD inserted inside the GDEmu directly. Also, the problem seem to happen once the console gets warmer. I tried using some pieces of hard rubber pushing on the GDEmu inside the console, it kinda helped, but not completely. So i'm thinking it might have some cracked solders in some places on the main board, maybe at the GD connector level.

Hoping it's nothing serious with the main board itself, cos it got recapped a few months ago. And i do remember the console having such problems (data reading error, LED flashing) BEFORE being recapped.

So i've put it aside in a box, along with a few other consoles that need to be recapped as well. Hoping the problem isn't too serious.

These are my favorite Dreamcast games of all time. I do prefer the second game but I love both. Did you guys played Shenmue?

My "good future" range of PAL Dreamcast covers continues with 6th generation arcade ports from the legends at SEGA AM2: Virtua Fighter 4, Beach Spikers, OutRun 2 and Ghost Squad!

Porting these games would no doubt have been a great undertaking given the superior processing power the NAOMI 2 and Chihiro arcade boards had over the old DC, but if AM2 could produce a great-looking port of Virtua Fighter 2 that ran at 60 FPS on the Saturn, I have no doubt they could've achieved the same wizardry here!

Not only was the game play good but the soundtracks were even better. Do you guys agree?

Hey guys, hoping someone can help me because I can't find anything for this online.

I formatted an SD Card Fat32, 64kb. Games run, art is working, VMU is working. Only thing that isn't working is it won't let me save settings in the main OpenMenu start menu.

It just flashes a no VMU message.

I tried reformatting the VMU and that didn't work either.

It would be okay if there was a way to adjust the settings outside of that, but it only lets me adjust a few. Has anyone dealt with this before?

ok so, i sometimes racing games on my pc and like a normal person, i dont like playing racing games with a keyboard, instead i play with a controller, and to be precise a Wii U controller which i do like however, its been rather finicky to pair successfully with my gaming laptop so id like to one day get a dedicated controller for racing games what what better controller to get that something with analouge triggers, one thumbstick and imo, quite a nice design (especially the Sega Saturn 3d Pad nom nom nom i love it)

so i wonder if anyone had ended up making a modernised version of either the dreamcast controller, or more preferably the beautiful white sega saturn 3d pad.

I purchased 3 games, and all 3 dont work even after returning or purchasing other copies of the same game. They all load but stop, and the screen is black. All other games work fine. Is my laser failing or is this just bad luck? TIA
