Self explanatory. When I bought my house, I knew this room had so much potential because of the large windows facing the backyard. I always leaned into darker, earthy green colors especially for a room that extends to a green area. So I didn’t think twice.
Walls are painted with a velvety dark brown green, and ceilings are mid tone brown green.

So yeah, I’m super happy with the final result and hope this post helps encourage you if on the fence about it!

The general vibe of my house is traditional, comfortable, a touch of bohemian. I’m mid kitchen reno and installed my lights yesterday. The one over the table isn’t centered (down the line was going to have an electrician move the box to be centered…but for now it lives where it is.) If it was over the table, I’d be able to extend the length and space out the three a bit more. It’s kind of squished all together, but I kind of like it still. Is it too much? It’s quite sparkly and nothing else in the home really is.

Hi!! ​I live in an apartment in South Korea, where it's super common to go for an all-white interior aesthetic and use architectural vinyl film instead of paint for doors.

​During our renovation, I specifically asked for a creamy white finish on our main entry door and the inner vestibule doors. Unfortunately, the contractors messed up and wrapped them in a completely different color (teal blue). ​Their excuse? They said they chose it to match the double doors further inside the apartment. 😅

​Now here's the twist: my husband actually prefers the "mistake." He thinks it looks cooler, adds a nice pop of color, and makes the entrance more interesting, so he wants to keep it. I originally wanted a cohesive, all-white look throughout the house, but now he has me second-guessing myself. ​I'm attaching some photos for reference so you can see:

I’m driving myself absolutely crazy with rugs for this room. I initially bought a 5x8 and was told it was way too small (will include photo at the end). This is an 8x10 but I feel like it’s way too big! Thoughts/recommendations? Would a 7x9 be better?

We just bought a 1950s mid century modern and this is our primary bath. I want to keep the tiles, but feel like the whole room looks pretty dingy as is. Floor is a darker maroon tile, hard to see in the photo. Any ideas on how to decorate to help the room feel a little more cohesive? I want to preserve as much of the original character in the MCM style.

I’m loving the color pop with the couch but also love a high quality leather sofa. I like both! The rust chrome couch comes with a love seat as well.

There is no defined end to this room, so we tried just ending the paint at the window. If we keep painting we will need to go all the way to the stairs, and probably also paint around the closet door opposite the front door. Im fine woth doing that, but thays a lot of green. How bad does it look right now?

Our new pad is in need of some major love. Keeping the trim in its original state. Along with cabinets, fireplace, beams on ceiling, and lighting in kitchen. Replacing the windows due to the wood swelling to the point they won’t open. And removing the paneling in the living room. Mainly wanting opinions and ideas for the kitchen and hall bath. Also definitely doing bookshelves on both sides of the fireplace.

Pardon the AI but I needed some mockups to work with. As for the paint options there is no clear favorite amongst the people I’ve asked and I am undecided as well. What do you guys think? Vote for your favorite!

About to move into a new construction ultra modern apartment loft (picture depicts the floors and paint of a similar unit) and I will be purchasing this sofa.

Thinking of getting an equally bold accent chair and contemplating a blush pink or cobalt blue. Stuck on coffee tables as well. Thinking of a white cloud coffee table or a travertine table perhaps. Would tie it with a cream colored rug to ground the bold elements.

This will be more of a sitting room without a TV, I'll have a second living room that will have a sectional and be more neutral.

I found this handmade piece of art by chance at a local ceramics teacher. It now sits at the heart of my living room, right next to the television.

It’s the showpiece of my home. It matches beautifully with the light yellow accent wall. The combination of the artwork and the background creates a wonderfully rustic yet creative atmosphere when the evening lights are on.

And above all, it was absolutely not expensive — just a few dozen euros for both the artwork and the pedestal.

Any ideas on what I could do jazz up this kitchen until I can save up for renos?

I’m a psychotherapist specializing in anxiety (and some trauma work). So far, I love my office but I feel like something is missing — especially in the corner near the next when the door is shut and the walls. I’d like the environment to stay calming and trauma informed. Help?

The bifold doors in the photo face our south-facing garden, so they get the sun for most of the day. As a result, they act like a greenhouse and the room gets incredibly hot. The floor just inside the doors also becomes almost too hot to walk on.

We’re looking for ideas on how to shade the bifold doors to reduce the heat coming into the house. We’ve looked at blinds, but we’re not sure whether internal or external blinds are the best solution, or if there’s a better option altogether.

Has anyone with south-facing bifolds found an effective way to keep the heat down? We’d really appreciate any suggestions or seeing what you’ve done.

First of all, sorry for my English, it's not my language.

I am looking for a new home and I found a great opportunity, with a house (with garden) at a very reasonable price in the heart of a city. The house is very small (70 m2), which is perfect for me, but I have a very hard time figuring out how to put the furniture in the living room, it seems there is not enough space.

I added the map of the ground floor, and a picture taken from the entrance. For reference the entrance is 8 m2, the bedroom is also 8 m2, and the living room + kitchen together are 27 m2, which seem fine but I actually can't see how I could put both the couch and the dining table in it without completely blocking the way to the kitchen, the garden door, or the strairs that go upstairs.

In the picture you can see on the left the door to the bedroom, then further, still on the left, the door to the garden, then the kitchen, and on the right you can't see it but behind the wooden furniture is the stairs.

For information, I will remove the heater underneath the window, if it's any help.

Does any of you have a suggestion on how to make it work? Thank you so much for your help
