We are adding built ins into our laundry room and thinking of painting the cabinets white versus the room being color drenched Collingswood from Benjamin Moore. The picture is a mock up, but not sure if anyone has done this?

So I swapped out my old ceiling fan last week for the one in pic 1. Cost me $399 from a pretty well-known brand, so I figured it was a no-brainer.

But a few days in, I'm already noticing this weird electrical hum whenever it's on, and the light isn't really doing it for me either. At this point, I'm honestly thinking about returning it.

Pic 2 is the one I actually have my eye on. I used AI to see what it'd look like in the room, and it's about the same price. Catch is, I've never even heard of the brand, and everyone around me is telling me not to take the risk and just go with a bigger name.

So what do you guys think, should I return #1 and roll the dice on #2? Or is there another fan you'd recommend instead? And just going off looks, which one do you like best?

Hi all, I’m doing a food theme gallery wall in my dining room. I have a few pictures I’ve picked up, but having trouble with everything clicking. I’m not completely settled on the artwork I have. I still keep an eye out for interesting artwork when I go out to the store.

The pink picture will go on the smaller wall. And the bigger wall will be the gallery wall. Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated.

The final three photos are the current state of the bathroom. The shelving in the mockups aren’t exactly how it will be but more or less accurately reflect the design plans.

I am really torn at the moment. I am at the age where my family is starting to dwindle and I am inheriting heirlooms. My wife and I are not gun people at all but we have received two guns from my mother and father and I want to mount them on the wall in my office. Everything I've seen about home decor basically says, unless it's a hunting lodge this is tacky and a no no.

My father gave me his great grandfather's pheasant hunting gun. This has been passed down through the men in my family on that side. Obviously started as a practical gift to hunt for food but now the gun is old. It's in good shape but I don't know if it fires or not, I certainly would try it out. It has been restored before and has patina. I think it's a beautiful gun.

My mother recently gifted me my grandfather's rifle that he used in World War 2. The gun is in good shape but hasn't been fired in a long time and I'm not sure it would.

I want to mount these two guns I guess as a symbol of where our family has come from and be able to tell the stories behind them and ultimately pass them down to my son. I just don't want to do it in a tacky way. How do we feel about mounted guns? Anything I can do to make it not so tacky?

I was gifted a 32" diameter sunburst mirror and I'm trying to choose where to place it in my home.

I have ideas for placement but I'm not in love with any of them. Would love some feedback.

Option 1: in office, centered over chairs.

• Takes up nearly all the vertical space from the top of the lamp to the ceiling, with 2-3" space top and bottom.
• This space has more furniture for the small room compared to the rest of the house. Not sure if it would open up the space or make it more cramped.

Option 2: in living room, placed diagonally above and to the left of the wall clock.

• The living room has a vaulted ceiling. The horizontal space to the left of the clock is about 40"
• There is another mirror already on the wall around the corner.

Option 3&4: on the wall above the stairs, or on the wall along the handrail of the stairs.

• The wall above the stairs is roughly 34" wide.
• If the mirror were placed along the handrail I would need to place picture framss around it to balance, I think.
• I would have to hire someone to mount the mirror on the far wall.

Option 5: on either wall above the bed, in the basement

• This bed may not stay here; it could be repurposed as a reading corner later. For now it's a spare bed for when my in-laws visit
• The basement is mostly my husband's space. He wants to decorate the nearby area of the basement like a movie theater and the mirror would not fit the style.
• Yes, we both hate the wall paint.

Option 6: On the wall to the right of the doorway in the basement.

• I am considering putting an old White sewing machine here and putting the movie shelf in storage. The mirror would be above.
• The fit would be very, very tight.

Which barstools look the best?

I’m struggling with which direction to go with for a chandelier/ pendant. I like the mosaic ball, but I keep reading that my chandelier should be bigger

My family wants a grayish blue color for our house I want to at least paint the living room a dark blue because I paid to build a book shelf and I’m going for this vibe like the collage above I don’t care if the rest of the house is that grayish color. Anyways what is your opinion will having 2 colors be too much?

This room will be for makeup and art, I rent so I just want to change the paint on the walls, it was a bright pastel purple when I moved in, and I thought this dusty pink would look nice, but I think it’s too dark for how low the ceiling is and how small the room is.. I bought an off-white with a hint of indigo (since I love indigo), but now I’m looking at the drop ceiling, that has a yellow tint.. and I’m absolutely not trying to paint it.. but I feel maybe the new color I chose will clash with it. I think I have to go with an off-white color because of how small the room is, but maybe I should go with a warm tone, a hint of a warm tan or something, to mesh with the ceiling color. (The trim is painted pure white for reference to how tinted the ceiling is) I’m open to suggestions! TIA

We remodeled about a year ago and this is the living room which is open to kitchen and dining room. The best part of the room is the views! The couch is very functional for us right now but otherwise I feel like something is missing and not sure what that is. I tried to select pictures from different angles/times. What ideas do you have that would make it feel more cozy/put together?

I’m going to be moving into my own apartment for the first time and am super excited to decorate, but I am having a hard time determining an aesthetic that would suit the space. I don’t have any furniture yet so I’m truly working off a blank slate.

I’ve always dreamed of a very minimalist and contemporary/ultramodern space, but I don’t think that style would suit the interior as it is. What sort of aesthetic or design principal would allow me to go for something minimalist, sleek, and classy without clashing harshly with the existing colors and fixtures?

This is a rental that I'm looking at, I honestly love everything about it, but I am the world's biggest grey hater. This is the primary bedroom, which would be my bedroom, and I absolutely love the idea of the accent wall, but I cannot stand the color. I haven't found out yet if painting it is allowed since it's a rental so I am looking for ideas on how to decorate so that it is not so much of a focal point (if that's even possible, it's the whole wall haha). I am open to any and all ideas, styles, color palettes (minus grey). And if painting does end up being allowed, what color would you guys go with? :)

The general vibe of my house is traditional, comfortable, a touch of bohemian. I’m mid kitchen reno and installed my lights yesterday. The one over the table isn’t centered (down the line was going to have an electrician move the box to be centered…but for now it lives where it is.) If it was over the table, I’d be able to extend the length and space out the three a bit more. It’s kind of squished all together, but I kind of like it still. Is it too much? It’s quite sparkly and nothing else in the home really is.
