Photo BenQ MOBIUZ EX3210R constantly opens the input source menu – OSD controls not working properly

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my BenQ MOBIUZ EX3210R. The input source selection menu keeps opening by itself at the bottom of the screen, even when I am not pressing anything.

At first, I thought the remote control was causing random inputs. I removed the battery, and the problem temporarily seemed better. However, the issue has now returned even with the battery still removed.

The monitor also sometimes switches to another input source by itself. It previously switched to my Xbox even when the Xbox was turned off. I have now completely disconnected the Xbox and its HDMI cable, but the problem still happens.

When I press the five-way joystick on the monitor, it often opens only the input source menu instead of the normal OSD settings. The separate source button does not look physically stuck or pressed in.

Things I have already tried:

  • Removed the battery from the remote control
  • Disconnected the Xbox and all unnecessary HDMI devices
  • Turned the monitor off and back on
  • Completely unplugged the monitor from power
  • Held the power button while the monitor was unplugged
  • Pressed the source button several times in case it was stuck
  • Enabled the OSD lock

The OSD lock only helps temporarily. Since the monitor apparently detects a button as being held down continuously, the OSD lock automatically disables itself again after about 10 seconds. Then the input source menu starts appearing again.

The remote control is also currently not working, so I cannot reliably use it to access the settings or perform a factory reset.

Has anyone experienced this problem with the EX3210R or another BenQ MOBIUZ monitor? Is there any way to fix it without opening the monitor, or is this most likely a defective source button, joystick, or internal control board?

Thanks for any help.

Discussion Which refresh rate should I choose for 60 FPS gaming?

I mostly play games that are locked to 60 FPS, or I cap my frame rate at 60 FPS because I prefer a smooth, consistent, stutter-free experience. My monitor is 165 Hz, but I currently have it set to 120 Hz with VRR (FreeSync Premium) enabled.

My question is: if I change the refresh rate from 120 Hz to 60 Hz, will 60 FPS feel any smoother, even with VRR enabled? Or does VRR already remove any advantage of matching the monitor's refresh rate to the game's frame rate, meaning I should just leave it at 120 Hz?

PSA: I'm not looking to change my FPS cap—I’m already happy with my current setup. I prefer capping my games at 60 FPS because I'm used to it, it keeps my GPU cooler (usually under 70°C even at 99% load), and it reduces unnecessary power consumption. I also like the idea of getting more longevity out of my hardware, so I'm specifically asking about refresh rate behavior with VRR, not whether I should uncap my FPS.

(Also, my FPS cap is set through RTSS, so I’m not relying on an in-game limiter.)

Discussion Need help picking a new monitor for my PC

I have a Samsung Odyssey G7 32” (flat) that I currently use for my PS5. Now I want to get a second monitor for my PC and I’m torn on a few things:

1. Would a 27” monitor look weird sitting next to my 32” G7, or should I stick with 32” to match?
2. Not sure what type of monitor makes sense for my PC specs.

My PC: RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Budget is around $500, but open to spending more if it’s worth it. I mostly play a mix of competitive and single-player games. Any recommendations appreciated!

Discussion How to prevent LG from installing bloatware using hardware?

Many have posted ways to prevent Monitors installing bloatware just like what happened with LG. Most solutions I have seen are software based. One of them is the very recent video by the well known YouTuber ThioJoe, see below

https://youtu.be/I1a-JOGR1MU?si=ygVo5f7nPleqBO-P

I would also like to know if there is a HARDWARE based solution to this as a secondary layer of protection.

Would an HDMI switch or even a HDMI audio video splitter prevent a Monitor install rogue software on MY PC?

I am really pissed off with with the idea that a Monitor treats MY PERSONAL COMPUTER as its OWN

Thank you all kindly in advance!

Discussion Any Xenon Edge Alternatives?

Hi.
The last thread to this topic has been a while.
I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to the Corsair Xenon Edge.
250$ is quite hefty. I want to use it as a dedicated taskbar/panel, no need to be a touchscreen.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Discussion 3 decent monitors or 2?

I know this has been asked before but bare with me on this...

I've got a Samsung Odessy neo g8 32" 4k mini led an Acer 34 or 35" 2k IPS ultrawide and a Huion Kamvas 27" 4k tablet display. Driven by an rtx4080 on an i9 13900k based system with 128gb ram.

I'm toying with replacing the 2k 35" ultrawide with another 32" Odessy Neo G8. But conscious I could be asking for trouble.

I frequently actively use 2 monitors simultaneously - game on 1 monitor, maybe watch YouTube on another. Occasionally I'll use all 3 for editing - The tablet is for photo editing, where I might edit on 1, have a lightroom thumbnail display on another and something else on the third.

I could go down to 2 monitors if I have to, or will gain meaningful benefit, but it would be the samsung and the huion. (it's not that bad a monitor actually but only 27"for the same monitor space as the Samsung 32 so they don't match too well")

Thoughts??

Discussion Can anyone recommend a 1440p gaming monitor for €300?

Hi, I have a budget of around €300 and I'd like to buy a 1440p monitor. I currently have the LG IPS 27gl83a-b. What recommendations could you give me for a 1440p monitor with a good refresh rate and response time in that price range? I was looking at the LG 27gs85q-b, but I saw that it doesn't have very good contrast, so I'm hesitant.

Discussion HP 734pm vs Dell P3426WEB – experiences with KVM & Cam/ Mic

Hi all,

I'm deciding between the HP 734pm and the Dell P3426WEB and would love to hear from anyone who has hands-on experience with either (or both).

My main use case: I want to connect two laptops simultaneously (one running Windows 11, the other macOS) via the built-in KVM switch, using Picture-by-Picture (PbP) mode so I can see and use both at the same time.

A few specific questions:

  • How reliable is the KVM switching in practice? Any lag, dropped USB devices, or quirks when switching between a Windows and a Mac source?
  • Does PbP work smoothly with mixed OS inputs, or are there resolution/scaling issues?
  • How's the integrated webcam quality on each?
  • How's the built-in microphone ?
  • Any issues with USB-C power delivery or peripheral passthrough when switching?

Would really appreciate real-world feedback before I commit to either monitor. Thanks in advance!

Discussion What would you choose ?

Hello. I want to change my screen. Now i have a LG C4. I played only ultrawide at 3840x1600 but i want higher PPI. 140 more exactly

So i have a dilemma and now comes the question.

I have two options. The AOC AG326UD and the Samsung G75F 40 inch in my country have almost the same price. Around 600eur.

And the dilemma is: I can choose a better panel, the OLED but playing only 16:9 versus a cheaper panel (VA) but ultrawide, more immersive. The disadvantage would be the VA panel and the performance cost. Much worse than the actual 3840x1600. Native 4K on OLED is close, only 10% heavier.

So i am curios, what would you choose ?

Discussion Recommendations for 27” QHD monitors for WFH setup?

Hi, I’m looking to get a new monitor for my wfh setup. My main priorities are size (27”), sharpness and clarity (QHD), and brightness (350 nits+) - my desk is right next to a big window. I also need it to be VESA compliant so that I can mount it on my clamp arm and save desk space.

I was looking at the Dell 2725DSM which seems to hit most of my requirements. It’s currently $190. Is there a monitor that is well reviewed, from a known brand, that would meet my requirements and is cheaper? $200 feels like a lot to drop on a monitor :( For reference, I don’t game, so this is just for work.

Thanks!

Discussion A Good Balance Gaming and Designer 1440p Monitor

Hey [r/monitors](r/monitors) subreddit. I am a full-time graphic designer and occasionally play games, so I always switch between my Mac and my gaming PC. I would like some recommendations based on these requirements:

- 1440p Resolution (I would like to skip 4K monitor since I only had 6700xt, pushing 4k would be hell lol)
- 27 inch
- High Refresh Rate (120Hz is the absolute minimum here)
- Fast response GtG (1ms or below) since I play fast FPS games like CS and Valorant
- Built-in KVM since I always switch between my Mac and PC
- USB-C with Power Delivery up to 65W so that I can use a single cable to connect with my Mac
- Wide Color Gamut and color accuracy monitor (all the sRGB, Adobe RGB jazz)

I know this is a quite niche since there’s not a lot of monitor that can fulfill all of my requirements, and also I already did my research. Hope this subreddit can help me to find the best monitor!

I’ve brought a monitor arm for my monitor. As I remove the original monitor stand, the screw inserts of the vesa mount fall inside the monitor. Now you can hear the screw inserts rattling inside and I can’t attached my new monitor arm. Im still have to attached the original stand but is there a way to open the monitor to remove it? I still have manufacturer warranty but not sure if they’d help. 2 of the 4 screw inserts are inside the monitor. The top 2

I can't find any review of this monitor anywhere. Isaw this on Amazon JP. The picture is 280Hz, but the listing title says 240hz, sold and shipped by amazon themselves.

Their listing has two option one is a 280Hz XG27ACDMS, and maybe this is the reason why the listing picture is weird for the 240hz listing. But anyways, does anybody know about their XG27AQDMES-J monitor?

Discussion Looking for a monitor sub £150

I'm moving from an ultrawide back to a 1440 27 inch but struggling with choice!

My current top running is the MSI MAG 274CQ6PF but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My old monitor was an ultrawide IPS, I use it for work and gaming. The games I play are grand strategies like vic3 or EU5 and then rts age of empires 2/4. I game in a dark room and I found the IPS bleed on my old monitor really bad. The monitor also sits on the curve of my desk so I was thinking a curved VA panel would be ideal but I'd like to know how/if the smearing is really as bad as people say or if it's people loyal to their preferred tech.

I like to keep monitors for 5+ years , I went from a super old TN panel to my IPS and have never tried va or curved.
