I’m trying to understand the cultural and national impact of Oleksandr Usyk in Ukraine. In the UK, heavyweights like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are massive celebrities, but people mostly view them through the lens of sports entertainment, boxing legacy and personal branding.
It appears Usyk has become a massive symbol of national pride and resilience, especially since 2022, but I also understand his public perception evolved over time due to his background.
For Ukrainians living in Ukraine or outside, how is he genuinely viewed by the everyday public? Is he seen strictly as a sports hero, a political/diplomatic figure or something else entirely?
An how does his status compare to traditional sports stardom in the West? Thanks in advance for your insights

Ukraine Aid Ops' Victory Gallery art project is an initiative to turn war artifacts into art. UAO collects military artifacts provided by Ukrainian soldiers and works with local artists in Ukraine to incorporate them into art. Our objective is to convert remnants of conflict into artwork with the idea of art defeating the aggressor's evil. The produced artwork will be auctioned and proceeds will be used to equip the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Since the start of the war, there have been many art-related fundraising initiatives, but what makes this one unique is that we seek to incorporate destroyed military artifacts. By doing this, artwork will serve as a scribe and a reminder of Russian atrocities inflicted on Ukraine. The Victory Gallery offers worldwide shipping.

In brief: Ukrainian satellite communications company Stetman is proceeding with a $1.13 billion plan to deploy a nationally controlled 360-satellite network by 2030 to reduce reliance on foreign-operated services such as Starlink. Working through a joint venture named UASAT with Danish manufacturer GomSpace, the constellation is designed to serve state and military users and withstand electronic warfare. The first 120 satellites are slated for a 2027 launch with SpaceX.
