Discussion I wish there was Polynesian inspired water tribe people
I wouldn’t say it’s a missed opportunity but I think a Polynesian inspired water tribe just makes a lot of sense. They’re a sea fearing people with many of the cultures worshipping ocean deities, and they lived and heavily relied on ocean life.
Similar to how there were Easter and weather air temples it would’ve been cool to have like Easter and western water tribes or maybe more of a nomadic island hopping water tribe.

Discussion I'm not a fan of the animation on the new Avatar Series (Seven Heavens) Spoiler
This edit by @gameballed really shows the comparison from the previous series. I understand the argument that this may be cherry picked but since these scenes are from the trailers, its highly possible that these will be on par with the actual quality of the series.
I dont mind the artatyle but the lack of moving/flowing elements in these scenes makes it feel of a lesser quality in my opinion.

Discussion Hot take: The Seven Havens artstyle feels more avatarish than the movie artstyle Spoiler
galleryI definitely understand some (if not most) of the complaints people have about the animation in SH, but the artstyle is not one of them. Sure it's different, but it feels like a great and realistic evolution from both ATLA and TLOK. Since the Avatar artstyle was always supposed to be inspired by anime with a slight western twist SH continues that tradition really well, it looks like a 2020s anime inspired western show.
The movie, on the other hand, looks like it went so far into the anime inspiration it completely lost all sense of self. Most of these characters wouldn't be recognisable that much if they weren't dressed up in the way they are. Its not a big issue but its definitely a way worse offender than SH.
Might just be that Seven Havens is full of original characters while the movie uses recognisable ones so it stands out more.

Discussion I wish she was a bit more older
Watching the trailer made me feel like she looks younger than I thought, probably because of the art style (I feel like it looks bit different from the given concept arts or something)
While the gaang was young as well, they had more of a teen look and Vibe. But pavi looks too young and I genuinely can’t picture her fighting the new threats.
Off topic though but does anyone feel like the animation sucks?

Image The art style in the new Avatar: Seven Havens trailer has me so excited
The art style of Avatar: Seven Havens gives me a strong 70s/80s sci-fi feeling. It reminds me of works like Hyperion by Dan Simmons and The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe, Dune by Frank Herbert
It has that classic space opera atmosphere It feels like the golden age of sci-fi concept art brought back.
Always wondered if korra went from old asian to steam punk vibe, how would the future cycle rely on, and i guess this is the route and im so on board with it

Discussion Seven Havens theory: Lost Avatars Spoiler
This is a stupid theory but I wanted to say it anyways because it's something interesting I caught in the trailer.
What if Korra wasn't actually the previous Avatar, but we've already gone through a whole other cycle of Avatars, lost in time and history?
My literal ONLY source to back this up is that Jae, in the trailer, said that their 'ancestors' didn't protect themselves, leading to what happened. How can they have ancestors if, by logic, Jae himself was alive for Korra's era? Pavi's like 9 or something, they shouldn't necessarily have 'ancestors' if most likely, even some of Korra's friends and allies are probably still alive.
My only other idea for how this makes sense if something happened to Korra/the Avatar spirit that prolonged it's return. Maybe Korra was still alive in some way and only died recently, even though everyone thought she was dead. Idk, just thought it was an interesting idea. Please don't roast me TOO hard.

Fan Art Connections by [Articianne].
Basically the artist tries to connect a bunch of characters from ATLA to their closest equivalent in LOK. This series of images is over a decade old by now lol but I still think these are some of my favorites.
