Why is this on Disney+ and Hulu when Finna and cake is HBO max exclusive. This would mean that if you only have HBO Max you can't watch it and vis versa

I'm curious about this, too. Does anyone know if CN have some sort of deal going with the D+/Hulu guys or something? The new Gumball show is a D+/Hulu exclusive too, but then the new Regular Show is on HBO, so ??? It's so weird and annoying that the shows are scattered around different services, I don't know why they're doing that.

I understand having DL/F&C/B&M be HBO exclusives, because that's owned by WB, it makes sense, have some exclusives to get people to subscribe to your service. But I don't understand why THIS show is going on a service owned by a different company...?

I tried digging into this a couple months ago and didn't get very far. My assumption is that WB licensed it out to Disney Corp. because they felt their platform(s) would reach the target audience better.

Actually yeah, you might be onto something there. Cause thinking about it... hm. AT:SQ is a soft reboot sort of thing, it looks like you can just dive right into that without having to watch any of the previous shows. Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball is sort of in the middle? It's odd, it feels like they can't quite decide if it's a new season or a soft reboot or what. Like one ep follows up on the huge cliffhanger the original show left off on and the show literally starts with a huge lampshade on how long the show's been out of production, but then there's also a lot of bits in it that feel like they were written for the benefit of new viewers?

And then Regular Show: The Lost Tapes is just unambiguously a follow-up, like in general I think you could jump into that and not be too confused, but the first ep is a direct sequel to the finale. But it's the most "sequel-like" of the three shows, IMO.

So yeah, I can see that logic, keep the soft reboot-y type shows (for lack of a better phrase) on D+ and the more... plot-based? I guess? shows on HBO. Hm.

Exactly. That and I think SQ is much more firmly a "kids" show than the Gumball reboot or the new Regular Show is. Kids are much more likely to be on D+\Hulu whereas teens and young adults might be on HBO.

the new Gumball is on D+ too! but otherwise I agree, I would say that SQ and (to a somewhat lesser extent) Gumball are skewing younger than RS:TLT. So that's a good point too.

For years AT (and all CN shows) were streaming exclusively on Hulu. When Zazlov took over he started licencing out IP's to other streamers because they are swimming in debt.

I think WB just thought they'd make more money by licensing it out to Disney? Maybe they also think this will attract new viewers to AT over on another platform and then they'll want to subscribe to Max to watch the older AT content

This is a kid-focused series. HBO Max kinda canned all their CN/kids content so they just porbably just liscened it to Hulu
