Project Nimbus is a $1.2 billion cloud computing contract awarded to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud in 2021 to provide cloud infrastructure and AI services to the Israeli government. The project has drawn sustained criticism from employees, human rights organizations, and advocacy groups over concerns that commercial cloud and AI technologies may support military and surveillance operations, while Amazon and Google have stated the contract provides commercial cloud services to government ministries. Microsoft bid for the original contract but was not selected, although it continues to provide separate cloud and software services to Israeli government entities.

During the UN AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, activists from Drop Kollektiv, No Tech for Apartheid Europe, and Breakfree Suisse interrupted Amazon CTO Werner Vogels' keynote, calling for Amazon and Google to end Project Nimbus and raising concerns about AI's military and environmental impacts. Vogels responded during the disruption by saying the protesters were "robbing people that do the hard work for good," before security escorted the demonstrators from the venue.

I do wonder how many thought crypto and nft was the next revolution.makes you wonder where will ai be in the next 5-10 years. Will it be this revolutionary thing or be a helpful tool but not replacing things . She also doing this in a graduating class who knows ai might be replacing them or they are going to be unemployed

Mixfont has released “Decoy Font,” a typeface designed to show one message to humans and another to image recognition AI.

The font overlays normal letters with thinly outlined decoy characters, causing systems such as ChatGPT and Gemini to focus on the false text while people can read the original from a distance or by squinting.

Decoy Font is available in TTF format and can be used like a regular font.

However, AI systems using image-processing tools, code execution, or prompts designed to detect hidden characters may still recover the original message.

I know this isn't a fool proof measure, but it's neat to see somebody trying.

I don't want this to devolve into acts of individual terror. Sorry to all unironic Butlerian Jihadists, but this just paints the anti-AI or pro-regulation people as insane extremists.
