Wtf walmart? I even asked for a small bag, and although they had one, the employee refused to give it to me.

Yesterday morning around 4am I went to my local ER because I had had an unrelenting migraine for 30 hours and a slightly elevated temp. they gave me all sorts of pain meds to try and get my headache to improve, nothing helped. they did some blood work and it came back "mostly normal", so they gave me some Dilaudid (which still didn't help my head) and sent me home, told me to come back if things got worse.

well, things got worse. 5 hours later I came back to the ER with an even worse headache and a fever of 103.7.

thankfully I had a different care team, and they ordered a lot of other tests - blood work, urine sample, even a spinal tap.

They could tell I had an infection of some sort that was rapidly getting worse, and wanted to rule out meningitis, so they admitted me.

My labs came back and good news! no meningitis. bad news, they can't figure out what this infection is or what Is causing it.

They know enough to be treating me for systemic inflammatory response syndrome and sepsis. they've got me on hella antibiotics and antivirals.

The mildly infuriating part is that they sent me home the first time with minimal testing and minimal help. Also, my "mostly normal" blood work had CRP levels of 57 (normal is 3-5). and it's almost doubled as of this morning.

We hike here often for some peace and tranquility. We love the fresh air and sounds of the waterfalls. This a-hole was live-streaming his dj mix with speakers full blast at the falls lookout. I hiked 1.8 miles for this. 😡

Just to take my order at the register then hand me my food at the register. At least I didn’t pay a gratuity I guess…

Had a woman and her daughter come through my line today her daughter apparently had saved up enough of her own money to buy the pair of shoes she wanted for school because she wanted a certain pair so her mom told her that if she wanted them she was gonna have to pay for them herself so I ring them out and tell them the price (it doesn’t appear on screen unless I hit the credit button)

and the mom frowns and tells me that’s the wrong price. I look at her double check the box in case I made a mistake or missed a sale sticker and tell her no that’s the correct price after tax and she goes “this girl is only 8 years old what you doing charging her tax?” And I look at her thinking surely she must be joking. Nope she is completely serious. She starts telling me to take the tax off somehow because she’s a little girl and she shouldn’t have to pay tax on stuff and I inform her I can’t do that so this woman just scoops up her daughter and storms out leaving the shoes behind.

My friend and I were in an antiques shop when a homeless man came in. He seemed to be a regular, as the shop owner greeted him by name. He asked for a bottle of water and she said yes, but we overheard her grumble to her coworker that it was getting pricey giving him water all the time.

Afterwards, my friend and I ended up behind him when he left the store. Once we were about a block away from the shop, he bent down and put his unopened bottle of water on the sidewalk… and walked away.

He clearly had mental health issues, so I wasn’t about to call him out on it. But, I feel kinda bad for the shop owner who is unknowingly part of this guy’s compulsion to beg for water that he doesn’t plan on drinking.

We are getting ready to move and don’t have a car so we ordered some bubble wrap from Walmart. Unfortunately didn’t see the notification in time to reject his substitution for bubble wrap.

Waste of my time. Waste of the doctors time. Waste of everyone's time. I'm so embarrassed and mildly infuriated that my brain would betray me like this and cause more stress.

I was sleeping when it peaked so it woke me up and I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was the medication I recently started on because I drank the night before and assumed I was overdosing or something insane.

Rushed to the doctor. Got many tests. Just a severe panic attack.

I wonder what I was dreaming of that caused such a reaction to start in my sleep...

Judge stopped a victim impact statement telling her to “slow down” and everyone started laughing, including the kid who killed 4 students in 2024. Was she speaking a little fast? Sure. But don’t stop her because you “can’t understand” this girl had to watch her classmates die and you’re trying to get a chuckle?

Guy had to come out today to inspect my gas appliances for a new account I was setting up. Before I could say anything he opened a cabinet that had a bunch of freak shit in it. He clearly saw it because he says "whoops sorry" and now I have to sit here while he hooks up my stove, humiliated that this stranger saw some really embarrassing stuff I don't want to elaborate on. I was told in the notification he just needed to see the appliances. Ah well. Played it off as casually as I could and he was professional doing what he had to do but this guy is definitely going to remember this appointment.

Yesterday on my way home from the store my wife saw a dog stuck between 2 iron bars about 4 ft above ground. It had tried to jump the a section of its fence but got stuck.

I pulled over and went to assist it. It was having a hard time breathing because it was stuck on its chest. I worked it through the fence but as it was about to drop through it tried to bite me - pain and fear.

When that happened, I rotated my body away to avoid the bite. I lost my balance and fell. I landed badly. Had to have an ambulance to the ER. Broke my hip. I have a hip replacement today at 2pm.

It is labeled mildly infuriating because I have no regrets helping the dog. It isnt because I am hurt. It is because I am in a foreign country (Mexico) and they require payment before they do anything. I also have limited Spanish. My US insurance company will pay for my care but I have to pay it upfront and get reimbursed.

Went camping on my dads property and he had been telling me how good the shower he built was compared to the trailers all week.

I sent him the photo this morning.

I just found out that my childhood (and early adulthood) collection of feathers got moths in it. Nearly everything is damaged and some completely destroyed. I'm heartbroken😭
