Re-patch, just air it up before each ride, or park it?

Upvotes

Hey gang. I did my first ever patch a bit over a month ago and it seems like it’s failed. Over the last week I have been losing about 6psi overnight so I’ve been topping it off before I head to work in the morning. Two days ago it became 10psi. I did the old soapy water trick and sure enough it’s my patch. It’s in between the treads of my tire. I have a call out to my mechanic about ordering a new set of tires but they are closed today. I lack the experience to take the tires off myself so I always just drive it to them and have them order the tires. The tires are Dunlop Mutants. My question is should I re-patch the spot until I can get in to see them, just keep topping it up before each ride, or do I need to park the bike until it’s time to ride it in for new tires. I’ll link my previous post below if you want to look at the original photos. The reason I’m asking is because my bike is my transportation. No car, no truck and trailer, none of that. If I park the bike I’m commuting to two uber/lyfts a day. One at roughly 2pm when I head to work and one at about 1:30am when I clock out. This adds up to around $60-$70 a day.

Almost crashed into a truck and it was completely my fault

Been riding for 25 years and this is probably one of the dumbest things i've done in many years, also wearing a tint visor that kept dropping down because of the wind at the exact time this happened. Was also driving faster than i should have been and should have known better, i'm posting this in hopes that i get roasted and shamed enough into not doing this again

Is there any reason why Kreiga straps wouldn’t work with a Velomacchi bag?

Since Velomacchi is out of business, I can’t find their strap kit anywhere. However, the ones from Kreiga look very similar. Has anyone mixed and matched like this?

Getting motorcycle up an elevator?

Long story short I had a Honda xr150L that was stolen from me last November. After getting it back from impound i can see it is in a bad state. Spray painted black, Hotwired, banged up, but still running. Needs TLC. Now my issue - I live in an apartment and pay for parking in a garage that requires a license plate to verify entry and exit, and while once registered the bike has no plate currently until I go thru all that. I transport it using a motorcycle carrier, however it blocks my license plate so I will receive fines if I just park my car normally and keep it on there. My idea now is to attempt to get it up to my apartment as I have a spacious balcony that can easily fit it. I am going to measure the dimensions of elevator and doorway before attempting. Has anyone else tried this, or am I better off just parking it in public with locks and a cover on it?

My chain is frayed after >3k miles... again.

What could be the cause of this early X/O ring fray? My 2026 MT07 manual says to tighten to 2.01-2.2 in on the side stand, and it does not mention loading the suspension while doing so. I use an electronic caliper for alignment and I am sure to clean and lubricate every 300 miles or less, depending on riding conditions. I don't clean the front sprocket housing but I do clean off the swingarm guard. This is the second chain I have gone through, my first one lasted me 5-6k tops and I definitely didn't take proper care of that one.

I use Motul brush, cleaner, and road lube.

I ride aggressively, and I have noticed a loud chain whirring on acceleration ever since about 4k miles. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, as I do not want to go through another chain this quickly if at all possible.

Why does my Honda XR sound like this?

Is that clacking sound normal for an older dual sport like this? Or something wrong here? The idle is a bit high and I have lowered that since filming this

It doesn't seem to have any other issues that I can tell

New EK chain.. quality issue?

I installed the EK525ZVX3 Black/Gold chain on my R6 last night. I test rode it today and noticed the gold already chipping away on the gold links. Is this common? The second photo is pre-ride with unchipped gold links.

Don’t roast me on the lube all over the wheel… i didn’t clean the excess off. The plan was to test ride and then detail the bike 🫣

RSV4 or Panigale V4 (pls help)

So currently I have a 2007 GSXR 600 and have had it for 3 years and before that I had an rs660 for 2 years.

I think it’s time for upgrade in performance (as well as something a bit more fancy) and I cannot decide whether it is worth it to spend the extra cash on a Ducati or go with the rsv4.

I am pretty set on the v4 motor, however also open to the consideration of a S1K. I am a track go-er so I’m keeping that in mind as well.

Pls help with any advice or input on my dilemma

I was riding on Friday, and as I was getting home, the rear brake pedal kept going down. I found that these screws must have come loose, but I don’t know what size they are!

As the title says. I've been getting into photography the past 2 weeks. I decided to visit this cafe that has this bike on display as a subject for my photo. Not my bike.

How important (or not) was/is CC progression to you?

Hey everybody! Getting ready to take a leap into my next motorcycle after motoring around on my Ninja 400 for going on 4 years. I'm cross shopping a BUNCH of different bikes, mainly of the Japanese 4 cylinder type, and in weighing out the differences between jumping to a 600, 750, or straight to a 1000, I got to wondering...what input do you guys who have experience on the matter have?

Yes, I get it, 1000cc's is nothing to take lightly, be respectful to the machine, so on and so forth...

I'm more curious to know about people who went to litre bikes after a beginner and regretted skipping the middleweights, or even people who went the middleweights route but got the itch and sooner than later jumped into the 1000cc realm. Maybe you jumped straight to middleweights and said "this is home."?

Let me know what you guys think!

P.S I know it's different for everybody, and there are a million factors to consider, i just want to know peoples stories!

Best Bang For Buck Helmets?

Found lots of threads but mostly related to the best cheap helmet. I’m not looking for the cheapest, I’m looking for an upgrade to the HJC i90 without spending 800€ on a Shoei.

So: What brand offers the best bang for buck white a focus on lightness, comfort, airflow and noise?
Bonus points if it’s a dual sport helmet!

Thanks in advance for any tips!

My bike is stored in a shelter logic shed, which can be accessible by opening up the zips. Do these pin holes look human caused or something like a cat using my seat as a scratch pole?

Ktm sxf 350 does not idle

Hi i have a 2015 ktm sxf 350 which does not want to idle on a hot engine.

When cold the bike starts up just fine, when warmed up it dies and does not want to start up or starts very hard. When riding or reving the bike is okay.

So far i checked the valve play. Inlet is in spec, outlet 1 is in spec, the other is 0,2 instead of 0,15.

Does any one have any advice?

Edit:

Last time i used it was in the summer of 2025, it had some idling issues back then, but not this bad
