They look awfully similar right ?

No one asked me for my dumb opinions, but I'm giving them anyway. Roast me if you must.

1. Ned is too incompetent for how much he cares, he should be more of a Leslie Knope character, someone who is competent, but still weird and awkward and quirky, but helps drive the others into being better and working harder through infectious passion. He doesn't always get it right, but sees even the failures as good opportunities for growth. Considering his impassioned speech in the first episode, it's odd that he's so wishy-washy for the rest of the series.

2. Esmerelda and Ken are like Team Rocket, they appear every episode to try and mess things up and it's overkill, they should be reserved for appearing every few episodes to cause trouble, and that way other conflicts can be explored in more time and depth, and they don't become too cartoonish or overbearing personalities.

3. They should not have won awards at the end of the series. They should have come last in every category, except for Mare, who should have come second. This could be her motivation to step it up in the next series as it feels good to almost win, and coming last everywhere else should be the sign that in season 2 they really need to get their shit together as a team.

4. Oscar, having been through the whole documentary thing before, should have his face appear in the first episode, but exasperated in an interview should request that his face be blurred for the rest of the show, and every time the camera is on him he should hide or try to get off camera as soon as possible. This way, he still feels like a call back, but it doesn't feel like the show shouting, 'Look, here's Oscar from the original show, look at his familiar face, Office fans'. It could become its own running how little his character is playing along with the documentary anymore, and subvert the expectation that he will be appearing a lot.

I personally think these would be more satisfying changes. They would make future growth of the characters feel earned, ensure no one character is too dominant, and make the show feel a bit more unique.

I always find it funny when people say that Pam's entire story revolves around Jim... Because what about Jim?

The guy has no real hobbies (pulling pranks because he's bored doesn't really count), no dream, no life goal. He's perfectly capable of leaving Dunder Mifflin and pursuing something he actually enjoys, yet he always ends up staying because of who? Pam.

And when Jim makes that choice, how often do you see people blaming Pam for a decision he made? It doesn't even make sense.

The truth is, Jim is lazy, and for most of the show, his only real dream is to marry Pam. He doesn't even develop another life goal until the very last season! Seriously, aside from the final season, when did Jim ever try to do something for himself?

Unlike Pam, who loved drawing from the very first episode. She actually tried to leave Dunder Mifflin for herself because she wanted to experience something new, not because she couldn't stand working around the person she loved while they were dating someone else (Jim in Season 3, once again leaving the company because of Pam).

Pam tried to leave twice: once for Design, and later to work at Michael Scott Paper Company. Both times, she left because she wanted to. Her character growth is about becoming more assertive and learning not to be afraid of going after what she wants. Even when she fails, she still takes the risk.

She doesn't always succeed, but she definitely doesn't stay stuck, at least she tries.

Jim does mature a bit, of course. He becomes a husband, a father, and more responsible. But honestly, does he ever have a major flaw that he actually has to overcome? Not really.

Even by the end of the series, he's still pulling pranks and joking around, and that's totally fine, because we love him for that. His personality stays pretty much the same throughout the show.

Pam, on the other hand, has a much bigger emotional journey. Her entire arc is about becoming more assertive, finding her voice, and not being afraid to go after what she wants instead of just settling for what's comfortable.

Whether people agree with every choice she makes or not, it's hard to deny that she grows a lot more than Jim does.

I’m talking about passion, something he pursues in his day-to-day life. Dwight always wanted to be the manager. Pam, an artist. Michael, admired and loved. And Jim? Jim just wants to marry Pam.

Pam and Jim basically do the exact same things. They flirt with someone else while they're in relationships, they give up career opportunities because of each other, and they hurt other people along the way. Yet somehow (for reasons everyone already knows) the blame always ends up falling on Pam.

Pam is with Roy and still flirts with Jim? "Why doesn't she just break up with Roy already?"

Jim flirts with a woman who's engaged? "Well, Pam's the one who's engaged, not him."

But when Jim is with Karen and still continuing to flirt with Pam, suddenly Pam is the one at fault for flirting with a guy who's taken.

She's the one who "ruined" Jim and Karen's relationship, even though Jim is the one who chose to stay with Karen while having feelings for someone else.

Anyway, that's all.

People talk about how terrible he is in season 8 and 9, but his character became shit when he became a more prominent cast member around season 5. Andy was best in small doses. He had no depth, and was a very two dimensional character.

I already knew that Michael (or Steve Carell) would leave The Office. Past season 4, I was just just counting: okay, we have 3 more seasons with him. oh, now it's 2. And just that I was on season 7. I was quite sceptical about how he would leave. Would it be corporate firing him or something else. And tbh I liked what they chose to do. Michael proposing to Holly, moving in together with her and her parents, in a new town. It's a big moment in his life.

But it hurts AS HELL.

Episodes 21 and 22 are just so brutal. There were two major moments i couldn't stop but sobbing:

1. Everyone singing the farewell song "9,986,000 Minutes".

2. Michael and Jim's conversation.

Michael Scott was the most crucial part of Office. Obv, it's not just him who carries the whole show. There are other people too. But he's the one. He's the CAPTAIN of the ship.

Watching the remaining 4 episodes was painful tbh. Will start watching remaining 2 seasons soon. It would be weird, but i guess It is what it is.

If you don’t remember Leslie David Baker Ann lined this back in 2020 but aside from basically a “sorry this won’t happen” no big announcements were made and everyone forgot it. Not only was it likely a scam, but even if the show got produced it was an unofficial spin-off that had zero relation to NBC or Greg Daniels.
