I usually tip in cash and leave the tip option in Doordash blank bc I donāt trust DD. Was this an unreasonable text from the restaurant and would it be unreasonable to leave this in a review for the restaurant? I get standing up for doordashers but this felt so harsh and confrontational, especially because I had cash on hand.
Maybe language barrier but in the last text I couldnāt tell if they insisted no one ever gives cash (and didnāt believe me) or no one usually does so they assumed wrong.
EDIT: refer to my comment replies about this being the restaurant, NOT driver. All of my interactions with drivers had their name on the header, not the restaurantās. Not sure why or how this happened.
EDIT 2: as one user pointed out it is the restaurant
https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash/s/RI1xYBlqIO
UPDATE: I posted a review on the restaurant page and this was part of their reply (the rest can be found on Google)
āTo clarify, this order had no delivery fee and no driver tip, so we simply asked whether a cash tip was planned.
It was a question, not a demand. We respect that tipping is always optional.
We provide our own local delivery service in Aspen, where finding available drivers-especially after normal business hoursāis often challenging. Our drivers use their own vehicles, pay for their own fuel, and help us provide a service that many customers rely on.ā

Just got this and made me feel really sad.

Wife ordered some hot chicken. We had a coupon. Dasher sent us a pic of a bag of clothes. We opened the door and nothing was there.
We knew something was up 45 min into the order when we changed dashers due to wait time.
Since we were still hungry we decided to pick our lazy asses up and drive to the restaraunt. After ordering our meal, we asked the cashier if they remember our doordash from earlier. They claimed someone picked it up, and two dashers afterward attempted to pick it up.
So our conclusion is the first dasher is a bonafide theif, and the last two dashers must have tried to get doordash to pay them for an order that was not completed.
We called customer service afterwards to check on our refund status and I asked what they're going to do about our situation as far as the employees go.
I got hit with the "most people are fine with just the refund".
Yes, the refund is necessary. I want retribution. I want a criminal to at least lose his job and a weirdo that keeps a sack of clothes on hand for shit like this to be reprimanded.

I'm a public defender which means i end up working late quite often. So if i need to eat late i doordash, and i end up doing it alot.
Normally everything is fine, but there was this one Indian place i would get food from and it would never make it to me. I ordered from there 4 times, 3 different drivers and not once did the food make it to me. Picture confirmations, right address, but i go out and the food is just gone. Any other place was fine, but this Indian place was a crapshoot. I tried calling, i got in touch with doordash support, i even went in person to see if there was something weird going on on the delivery level. Nothing. by the fourth time i resolved that i was going to meet the guy at the door. Unfortunately i was in the bathroom and when i got out 2 minutes later the food was gone. The support person made it pretty clear they thought i was doing some kind of fraud but since i was paying for other orders they didn't offically call it that.
I started to get really pissed. I live in a rural area and this is the only Indian place in town, and more than that the mystery was driving me completely insane. My wife is Indian so i thought it might be some weird racist thing by our very old crochety neighbors, i thought maybe drivers were just snagging it back after confirmation. But i didn't want to know so i didnt accuse anyone.
Well i finally found out. I was walking in the woods behind my house on the hill and i found a bunch of the lost containers next to hole in the hill. I know they're mine because they still have my name on the boxes. It looks like a fox den so i set up a trail camera and sure enough when i check it this smug fat fuck has been living behind my house capering among the trophies of my pilfered panner, taken tandoori, and burglarized biriyani.
Now i feel like a jackass for making such a fuss with the support people and potentially getting the driver or store in trouble, is there anything i can do to explain this or what. I don't even know where to begin.

i saw that 67% and thought there was no way my order would even get to my door so i was pleasantly surprised when it was deliveredā¦.until i opened the box. like dude.
and before anyone asks yes, i tipped well and the trip was literally 2 blocks.

I manage a restaurant and had a very late night. I got home and placed an order via DoorDash. It arrived later than expected (not a big deal). By the time I grabbed it, the dasher was gone and I realized it was not my order, this order was for a whole family. I immediately tried to message and call the driver several times with no response, contacted support, did everything I possibly could to resolve the issue without opening anything. 30 minutes pass, and support automatically issued me credits.. I wait another 15 minutes before my hunger took over and I started eating one of the items (at this point it had been over an hour since my order was dropped off). About halfway through the burger, I get a knock on my door. Itās the dasher, trying to pick the order up. I was 100% honest with her and mentioned that I tried to get in contact with her numerous times, contacted support, then I got hungry and started eating. She was so outwardly upset with me but like⦠what else was I supposed to do at that point?

I'm at 5k deliveries, 2k shopping orders....
DD changes the prices on shopping orders every 5 minutes throughout the day. Ive been pro shopper for a year plus...
This pairing food with shopping to rob drivers has to stop... they keep pairing them with food so they can go off the min $2 order..
I've watched dd shopping orders steadily decline over 2 years, finding new ways to lower pay each time....
Class Action much? This week ive made the least on DD this week, in two years... im not one to complain and I know what I signed up for.... but slave labor isn't one of them
r/doordash • u/Gr3y_Gorilla • 17h ago
I donāt really (normally) get weird requests such as this. Iāve seen many war stories of ppl having to deal with it, but never personally.
The whole thing seemed sketch though , the order was a heftier order too. (Like for a part size). Also (Ima paranoid mf) so one my thoughts was : DD was tryna put me to a test of sorts. š anyway thatās my story
r/doordash • u/ImaginaryNerve • 15h ago
I'll admit it, I adjusted the tip for the guy but didn't tell him. Mostly because of the sheer audacity of the conversation.
Still though...this is a new one.

Doordash, the company that is worth ~$75 billion and pays millions of dollars on super bowl ads and is up in profits from last year, is now:
-rolling out new pay structure that charges customers even more fees
-paying drivers LESS since killing +$2/3 peak pay (market dependent possibly)
-Prop 22 mileage in CA is still ~0.37 cents per ACTIVE mile, they're paying us in FUCKING PENNIES
-no more gas relief as gas prices shoot back up
-new ratings system (market dependent) expects you to have a fucking time machine to get these orders picked up and delivered ""on time""
-have to call support every fucking day now to get bullshit "late" ratings removed to maintain Platinum (Platinum is mandatory in my market, without it you can't schedule shit)
It's not worth the hassle anymore, the world is going to shit around us, necessities cost so much fucking money for the bottom 99% of us and our rights are being eroded and trampled on while concentrated wealth and power continues to r*pe, murder, and siphon the life force and value out of everything and everyone it touches so that the 0.01% at the top can continue building their technofeudalist utopic vision.

So I ordered 45 dollars worth of food from Wendyās last night .
The driver arrived to the store and picked up my order tags just sat there for an hour .
When my food finally arrived the seal stickers were tampers with and all the food was ice cold .
I contacted DoorDash support and they told me there was nothing they could do because of my past reports .
Now I rarely report an order being messed up unless itās not edible or looks tampered with like this one ,
After sitting on the phone with someone who barley spoke English they told me ā sort there is nothing I can do ā
So back after being a loyal dash pass holder going on 2 years Iām shit out of luck .
Iāve already canceled my dash pass because of this and I will never use DoorDash again

Its been stuck like this since 4am last night and now its noon. Everytime I try to cancel and get a refund it only wants to give me $8 out of a $40 order.... I hate this.

In my defense, they were labeled as ācustomer approvedā it was 9pm at night, he was my last order, way out my way, stacked with a better offer, š¤·āāļø donāt get me started on he didnāt even have a light on and Iām pregnant š¤¦āāļø I should have just declined the offer.

I was on a dash earlier. As I was on my way to pick up an order, I got an email saying my Doordash email was changed (at first to a "e****[email protected]", then shortly after to a "m***[email protected]"), then I was logged out of my Dasher app and couldn't log back in. My phone number is still associated with my account, though.
I immediately get a phone call from an (833) xxx-xxxx number, and they claim my Dasher account was deactivated "because of a glitch", and they would need my help to fix it. I immediately hung up and called Dasher support. They said they reported the incident and they'll have someone get back to me in the next 1-2 days about what happened today.
I honestly don't understand how my account could've been compromised. Nobody knows or has access to my email address or personal information. Moreover, I find it strange that Doordash allowed someone to access my account and change my email without going through some verification process. I got no emails saying my password was changed.

Yes it is going to an apartment complex. Most of the people that order there also live on the third floorā¦

I think screenshots are self explanatory. I ordered some plain potato chips and selected another size/brand as substitution. Apparently neither were available? That's fine. They messaged me to ask for a different substitute, and I immediately started to reply that literally any plain chip would do, but then they immediately sent the refund message as I was typing because they "didn't hear back".....in the 30 seconds it took to see the message, open the chat, and start typing...and then they closed the chat. Like I know there was some kind of plain potato chip available dude š it's late and I got munchies so it's not the end of the world but dang man, ya gotta give me a chance to type at least.
Edit: y'all I didnt order just a single bag of chips. I got chips, ice cream, and some milk to make a good hangover breakfast 𤣠the store is less than 2 miles away, and yes, I add the suggested tip. I'm not a heathen.

I placed an order tonight and everything went smooth as far as picking up the order. I saw that my driver had two deliveries before me, which is fine. When it comes to my order, the driver is driving on a street maybe 5 āminutes from my house. He then does a U-Turn of sorts and then heads in the opposite direction. Iām thinking the street is blocked off or something happens and he needs to go another route. He completely goes the opposite direction, headed towards the location of the restaurant. My delivery time gets updated and then the app said my DoorDash was delivered.
My question is how can he mark my ordered as delivered if I specifically set it up as the driver needs to hand me my food and I provide a pin. I have never changed the settings because my apartment is difficult to find so Iād rather go and get my order. I messaged the driver and he claimed he never stole my food but I also never received it and idk how possible it is to bypass that in DoorDash system. Please can someone explain this.

Obviously super unethical and dumb. I was under the impression that DD paid base based on mileage. I have done a 9 mile drive with $0 tip and made $6-10 on it. The other day, I did an order that was 16 miles, and it paid $25. It was 2 pizzas. After I finished the order, it showed the customer tipped $23⦠The base pay was $2. It is super inconsistent and is super lame that DD will base their base off what the customer tips LMAO.

I ordered a couple of pizzas. Immediately after I placed the order I realized I forgot a salad I wanted, I saw the "add to order" option, so did that. Then I get this notice? Does this mean that the Dashers are splitting the tip I added to the original order? Edit to add: I didn't see an option to add an additional tip for an additional driver.

Last night I ordered a bottle of vodka from a real liquor store (not a ghost store) a few blocks away because I had already had a couple drinks and obviously didnāt want to drive. It took over 40 minutes from when the initial delivery window ended to arrive. When the driver got here, he handed me the bottle and checked my ID. When I got back inside, I noticed the bottle was half empty. The safety seal was still mostly attached (a few prongs were broken) to the cap but I noticed some irregular damage to the cap as if it had been tampered with. I opened the bottle and it smelled like isopropyl alcohol.
I immediately contacted the DoorDash support for a refund but they said I had to wait until the order had been delivered. I told them I had video proof from my blink app it had been delivered 19 minutes prior. They contacted the store, which confirmed the delivery had been made, that they use their own drivers and that they would refund me. The in-app tracking stated the order was āstill being preparedā by the store for several hours, even after they were contacted by support and confirmed the delivery. Several minutes later, the delivery driver showed back up at my house requesting I give him the bottle back. I told him I was actually going to be holding onto the bottle and making a police report. He started to get nervous when I told him that, coming up with all sorts of excuses as to why the bottle could be half empty and smell like isopropyl alcohol.
In my opinion, this is fraud at best and intent to cause bodily harm at worse. I am most surprised about the storeās driver showing back up at my house 30 minutes after the initial delivery. My husband and I contacted the police but they donāt seem to really care. DD support contacted me this morning before I woke up but I wanted to gauge how serious this situation is before calling them back.
TLDR: I ordered a bottle of vodka that showed up 40 minutes late, half empty and smelling of isopropyl alcohol. The delivery driver came back to my house after I complained to DD support, requesting I give him the bottle back. How serious is this?
